Nobody even remembers stuff like TerryToons or Underdog or Tom and Jerry. There was a bunch of black and white stuff from the 30s and 40s that ran quite a bit in the 60s on mornings.

They are not 80s cartoon...

The movie was great too. Season 3 is coming in 2024. You can skip the series focusing on Megumi though (An explosion on this wonderful world), not very good.


No Game, No Life has a similar vibe. It was fun as well.

Maybe coz they cheap out on the voice actors? Some of the girly voices in KonoSuba sound too similar and it messes with the experience.

You cannot expect voice acting of the same calibre as the original cast. They just don't have the budget nor cultural understanding to emote.

When one's not used to it, maybe.

Here in Portugal, the only thing that gets dubbed is cartoons or animated movies (Shrek, Toy Story, etc), and even then, only those aimed @ young kids: everything else is subbed.


For example, The Mysterious Cities of Gold i talked about earlier was aired here in Portugal in French, with Portuguese subs.

When one's not used to it, maybe.

I try to avoid subs because I want to relax and be entertained, not stress my brain cells to decrypt and understand text. While I'm doing that, I will miss some cool face expressions or other important stuff and then later I will have to rewind and go over some scenes again. So watching movies/series that require subs is never my first priority and I will often skip highly rated stuff coz of that. I watched Squid Games without subs and just guessed whatever they were saying from their gestures and facial expressions.
