trillian looks good. i'lldownload now. currently i use all of the big ones (icq, msn, aol, yahoo).

I use AIM and MSNm. AIM is a pretty crappy app, but almost everyone I know has it.

aol instant messenger and i think now with the newest version, you can enter actual aol chatrooms, not sure about this though

trillian is nice, but still not quite there (on the aim side). Kinda buggy in irc too, as well as some minor issues. Profiles in aim are screwy, and it screwed up my ordering for my groups and stuff And more ram consuming than AIM + mIRC (rarely use ICQ now), so decided against it
