Although I would like to say that I would find some cruel and slow way of killing this perv, I would probably not be able to control myself and it would be a end more swift than he deserved.

How did the parents let the 4yo play outside without keeping a constant eye on her?

There once was a world where we didn't have to fear that every one in our neighborhood could possibly be a pedophile or sex offender. It's like the 80's are ancient history to most of you now.

I would have calmly asked my wife and child to leave his apartment and would have solved the current and all future problems with this sack of shit.

Even if you didn't have to worry about cars or perverts, 4yo is too young to let out of your sight. They can die just from tripping over something.

I roamed all over the place when I was 5 (and a half) in the mid '80s, but 4 is just too damn young.

Can't believe the father didn't do anything to the perv. There should've been a new coat of dark red paint on the walls.

Wow. I'm glad the child was unhurt. I am amazed by the father's restraint. I'm sure he thought what everyone else was thinking in this thread, but used his brains to figure out if something went wrong, he could be the one in jail instead.

Love the internet tough guy threads.

I am pretty sure most of you would have to lose your virginity first in order to have a daughter to rescue and a molester to pummel.

The guy did the smart thing. He saved his daughter and insured the guy got arrested. Beating the guy to a pulp would have just gotten him in legal shit and potentially could have jeopardized the case. One beat down is no where near the justice of knowing every night the sick fuck is going to be getting a big old spoonful of his own medicine in FPMITAP.

Actually, "Strangers" abducting kids is actually very rare and significantly lower occurrence then the media would have you believe.
It is STILL far more common for molesters to be family members, friends, and people you know.
Abduction rates are lower than there were back in the "good old days" and the rates of sexual abuse are actually down as well.

In fact the vast majority of the Megan's Law/Early Alert system is used in Custody battle abductions. One parent stealing the kid from another parent.

There is a lot of hypervigilence and media fear mongering. Gets great ratings though.

Maybe, just maybe the calm, collected father is going to use being calm and collected as his alibi when the guy gets out on bail. "Wasn't me! Now that hundreds, thousands of people know what a pedophile this guy is, it could have been anyone who beat him senseless with my a baseball bat."

Jesus, that guy has restraint. If that were my dauighter we would be calling the cops to tell them a body looked like it went through a blender is in a room.

You don't know what you would do until you are actually in that situation.
Yes, you want to do the obvious. But do you risk being jailed and being away from your daughter when she needs you the most?

Only because not enough had been done for him to claim temporary insanity. Go one step further and say that it was apparent something did happen, obvious evidence of such, and no jury would convict the dad of killing sickoperv.

Probably so, but it can't be known for sure, so do you take that chance? You're instinct is going to pull you in one of two ways...either towards your daughter to protect her and get her away from the danger....or towards the perp to administer justice. I make no judgment as to which is the right choice.

no jury on earth would convict the father

I'd like to think that to be true, but honestly I don't believe it. The jury would get an order from the judge to take into account only what is relevant for the case or something. As far as we can tell, the father or daughter were not in immediate danger so there was really no "lawful" reason for the father to attack the other man. It's sad but true. The guy did the smart thing.

I hope the perv ends up as a cellmate with Johnny "bloody sphincter" Rogers.

I just read the rest of the article. Shit like this annoys the hell out of me:

"It changes my whole perspective about living here," said Trista Horecka, 24, who has lived in the apartment complex since March. "We're moving out as soon as possible.

"I moved out here from San Bernardino because it was a peaceful area. It all changes now," said Horecka, who has a 3½-year-old daughter. "There is no safe place to have your children."

"I have four kids. I would never worry about anything like that. My son is younger. He's 9. I can guarantee he won't be outside any time soon."

Nice knee-jerk.
