DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - A teenager who was beaten unconscious after a Daytona Beach father says he found him sexually abusing his 11-year-old son has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

A Volusia County judge sentenced 18-year-old Raymond Frolander on Thursday after he pleaded no contest to lewd and lascivious molestation of a child.

The father of the 11-year-old told police that he walked in on Frolander abusing his son last July and immediately attacked the teen. The father called 911 and said at one point, "He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you."

When officers arrived, they found Frolander motionless on the living room floor. He had several knots on his face from bruising and was bleeding from the mouth.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that no charges were ever filed against the father who beat up the teen.

Kid deserved it. But I'm surprised he isn't filing charges, I can almost guarantee he has a case. Not that I support it...

Wow, it's shocking to see that Florida did something right. I had to check the date to confirm this isn't a leftover April Fool's joke.

Got off lite.

only bad part of the story is a 11yr old got molested.rest of the story was a feel good one.

Criminal charges? Citizens, whether or not they've been wronged, do not "file" criminal charges.

No matter how hard you try it isn't going to work. Don't you know that at least half of ATOTers are criminal defense lawyers ... and the other half want to be.

That teen deserved every punch he got. It's sickening that in this day and age this stuff still happens.

I hope the dad does not get into any legal trouble though.

Reminds me of that headshot drunk driver story a while ago. They got let off because it couldn't be proved whether the husband or wife pulled the trigger.

Here it is. Classic ATOT.

Yeah, other than the fact that the son was abused the rest sounds about as it should be. Not sure the perp is going to enjoy his time in prison -- not that I'd lose any sleep over it...

It sounds like he caught him in the act, so it should fall under self defense. From the looks of the guy, I'm sure the father took things a bit further than required, but I can't see that going anywhere.

LOL no, I am not sure how you think it works, but individuals do not bring charges, the courts do, specifically agents of the court, which is the prosecutor's office and law enforcement.

What the teen COULD do, is ask for a complaint be filed and the prosecutor's office will decide if there is evidence to warrant a charge of *something*.

However, good luck getting the police to write the complaint for you, because it's plain as day that the teen has ZERO case. The teen was in the act of committing MULTIPLE felonies, no doubt of which were assault and battery. Due to the fact that he was doing these things, the law says that he is responsible for the jeopardy caused by the actions, and one of the those was getting beat the fuck down.

Case dismissed.

He could still sue, same idea. Not that he would have a case, at least I hope not. Then again you can sue for anything. I've seen stupid things happen in the "justice" system.

No, I'm afraid filing a civil lawsuit meets the same basic criteria. You would need to find a judge that would hear the case - good luck finding one. Not only that, you would need to find an attorney to file for you. I guess you could file yourself, good luck. Simply filing a lawsuit doesn't really mean much. Unless a judge will hear the case it's a moot issue. You don't automatically get a judge and jury just for filing a lawsuit...

Florida seems to attract these types, why the laws are on the books.

And watch for it a bit, and why I have a few guns in the house, etc.

I'd comment on the girl in my neighbors driveway I helped a few weeks back, but not needed.

I posted it when it happened.
