No, it didn't.

The fact that you think it did means you're probably a WORSE driver than you otherwise would have been.

i hate retarded kids that ruin games for people. why the fcuk would you ever do something like that? im 16, and i would never even consider it. even though NFSMW is my favorite game right now. a car is a means of transportation, not a way to jerk around and be a complete dumb ass, and KILL PEOPLE.

Bad parenting. Not bad video games.

OMG!!! He had a video game!!! Let's blame his reckless behavior on an inanimate object instead of on him or his parents for not instilling some sense of responsibility in him!!!

I went to court the other day (got stopped by a cop, and lucky me I didn't put my new insurance card in the car and the card in the car said it expired two weeks before) and this kid was talking about his 2000 Impreza 2.5RS and how it makes 230hp..he's going to turbo it soon so god knows what type of power he'll be making.

Oh, he was 17.

*edit* oh, he was in court because he was streetracing.
That is not a new phenomenon.

It's easy to blame an inanimate object like a video game then say, parents or the kids themselves. Not that the games are wholly innocent though and I think they share the blame.

See I disagree to a certain extent. if one can't realize the difference between a game and real life, they need some serious help.

Video games can act like a catalyst for idiotic behavior. Most kids will emulate anything if its fun, thrilling, etc.

Edit-When I go to the shooting range I have, get this, guns and bullets in my car!!!

This happened in Toronto.

It's a very sad story indeed as he was supposed to be receiving his Canadian Citizen ship the next day (i.e. today I guess).

I'm glad I always keep a copy of this game in my car at all times. If I am in an accident they can automatically cite the other driver. Because what games you have in your car obviously influence your decision making process.

Nothing in the story said that he was playing the game while driving. They only found a copy of the game in the car.

i know that is a quote, not sure if its from that article or not, but that is specifically about that accident

and that is fvcking sad if they really think the game is the reason that people street raced fast cars ...

Seriously. . .where do you think they got the idea for the game from? Art imitating life or life imitating art?
