Fastest video card

Water only gets you a certified 50MHz.
They probably don't want to keep pushing because they need to make sure the cards will reliably be that speed, and don't want to ship too many replacements.

$1076 for the reg GTX black pearl :Q

Does that include the water pump, radiator and tubes also, or just the card?

Includes everything, but still, I could buy a GTX and sweet water setup for my whole PC with that money.

SLI of that will break the bank.

I think this is a good thing for people who have never watercooled before (and have a ton of free $$$ to spend). I'm kind of interested in watercooling myself but putting in the research and trying to find all the right parts is a bit difficult. I might buy the aftermarket kit from eVGA (if they offer one) for my 7800GTX512 one day because I have no idea where to begin with watercooling.

FEAR would still bring it down 🙂

But then you can just blame it on the CPU. Even if it's a FX-57. 😛

Even a dual opteron at FX 57 speed?

Some people will blame even a dual x2 4800 at FX-57 speeds, but that's just nonsence.

Ok, so if the game is not CPU limited, but only GPU limited, why then your comment?

The original comment was a joke. Hence the smiley...

Ive read at vr-zone that the X1800XT PE is going to clocked at 700/1600. So I am not sure which card will be the fastest within the next week. I wonder if Nv releases their "ultra" the week after next week.. 🙂

The X1800XT-PE will be 12% faster on the GPU & 6% faster on then memory. It needs to make up more than 12% to beat the 7800 GTX512. I doubt it will be faster. Based on availability, price, etc. it may be a better buy than the 7800 GTX512, but only time will tell.

They still have to work on the drivers for optimal performance of the x1800xt, so it might see a bigger performance boost than just from the speed bump.

Crazy that water only gets you an extra 50 Mhz though; shows how good that Quadro cooling is.
Either that or nVidia really are at the limit of 0.11 um like ATi's slides hinted.

Considering how hard to clock a complex 24 pipe GPU can be , plus its based on 110nm and not using lowk, im quite astonished at clock speeds of 600mhz.
