i really like IE7 beta 2
What gets me is that I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a quote not too long ago from MS's IE team that basically said they would *never* implement tabbed browsing, as it was just a gimic that nobody really wanted.

:D

lol, didnt' know they said that... idiots :)

nice post OP!

Well alright I thought I'd do some testing too so I got all 3 browsers ready to go and did you test and all the scores were about the same but faster then yours so I decided to spice it up a bit and I overcl0x0r3d my m0d3m and learned how to do this l337 voltmod on my routers power adapter so it gets twice the power and I did the test again and firefox and opera were both wayyyy faster then i did ie and it was real faster but halfway it got to fast and the router started smoking and it melted so in conclusion ie is really the bestest browser and i'm definitely switching back when i get a new modem!!111!ONE!!11!!1

i have NO idea what your connection bw has to do with your browser ?

If the speedtest varies from browser to browser - then the speedtest is flawed.....BESIDES....the values you show there are pretty much in range of what you get with various runs anyway......this speedtest is no test for "how fast a webbrowser is" anyway.... :)

When are you going to do yours?

So overall, Opera seems to be the fastest browser for windows. Firefox is not faster than Internet Explorer, except for scripting, but for standards support, security and features, it is a better choice. However, it is still not as fast as Opera, and Opera also offers a high level of standards support, security and features.

 for opera, I happened to like its interface the best, too. the only problems I have with Opera so far are
1)sometimes images would finish loading and wont show fully unless opened in a seperate tab, I am guessing this might be related to the cache size
2)yet other times games wont run with Opera displaying some directX related error message.

You're easily one of the worst posters on this board.

Unless this is all shens and you're just messing with people. Somehow, though, I doubt this is the case...

When you've finished wiping your ass on your post, maybe you'd like to go and play in the traffic and help to cleanse the gene pool.

The acid2 test has nothing to do with scripting. It tests CSS rendering. It's not really relevant, because it tests a boatload of corner cases that you are unlikely to see in most real-world pages... so it's basically a test to see if you have these edge cases handled. Note that some of the things acid2 checks are handling of broken CSS and broken web pages - e.g. an <object> that's incorrectly specified, and various declarations that should be ignored. If you make your engine "forgiving" so that correct CSS renders perfectly, and you do a best-guess for incorrect CSS, you won't pass the test. For what it's worth, this is how the current trunk Gecko engine (~gecko 1.9a, what will drive Firefox 3 after another year worth of development) renders acid2.
