Why is IBM planning on making 90nm chips using this when their computer segment was sold to china?

Their chips were never used by their PC division. That seems odd on the surface of it but it's actually not.

It would be foolish of IBM to sell the same division that also makes the chips for the GC, PS3, and the Xbox 2 to China. Its a VERY profitable business.

IBM chips division have much potential and in leading position of the chips industry. A much important division than PC division.
