Guyver and Amused:

The fucking OP asked what your favorite "fast mex" place was, and I fucking said it wasn't anything in the poll. I prefer a local place which has better food than any in the poll, and I also end up supporting local small businesses by going there as well.

Why don't you two fuckheads go troll somewhere else.

Between the Keurig thread and this one you come off as a smug elitist prick. Sorry you're anally bruised over it, but it had to be said.

albertos, betos, or cafe rio.

I'm a big fan of cafe rio. Haven't been out there in 5 years though. Good grilled meats, fresh greens, lots of variety.

For a straight up burrito, i'd go with chipotle, but i don't like that they don't have melted cheese.

Basically the meat at chipotle is way better than moes, but all the other stuff they put on the burrito, while higher quality, just don't jive with me.

on my burritos, i like seasoned rice, black beans, cheese, fresh jalepenos and black olives. if there is no melted cheese available then some hot salsa is ok.

Qdoba was just a mess and not worth the hassle. didn't like the options. baja fresh is more like taco bell to me.

Only ATOT could turn a poll about fast food places into some kind of flame war. Fortunately, I see that some people have discovered new food options near them which makes this thread worthwhile in my book.

I like Qdoba's naked burritos and their Mexican gumbo - yum.

Typical elitist knows nothing of the subjective nature of taste and thus thrusts their own tastes upon everyone else.

Are you still here?

You realize you're still spouting drivel which does not apply to me right?

Pretty much any local roach coach blows the chains out of the water wrt to burros.

Pretty much this. When I see that roach-coach-of-Mexican-goodness sitting on the corner my appetite gets a woody. I like those chains in the poll, but would choose a roach coach over any of them.

None of the above.

I'm not even sure if there are any of those places around here...

When I get the taste for Mexican food, I head down the street to the local roach coach.

Cheap, delicious, and as authentic as I've ever had outside of Mexico itself.

EDIT:

Pretty much any local roach coach blows the chains out of the water wrt to burros.

Damn...how did I miss that?

Roach coaches are just as hit and miss as any restaurant. I've some some damn good ones but just like restaurants some are downright awful.

¡¡¡¡¡¡¡jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja!!!!!!!
I live in socal and go to a lot of random mexican places, all over, and in the mex ghettoes as well.
Chipotle burritos are up there as one of the best for me. I like the baja taste they add to it. Plus burritos aren't originally mexican to begin with.
Tacos on the other hand... nothing beats a hole in the wall mexican joint.
