Benchmark Timedemo "PCGH_VGA" for Far Cry
*****************************************
Short instructions:

1. Put the downloaded files/folders into your Far Cry main folder.
2. Start the game with "FarCry.exe -devmode".
3. After loading the game, enter the console and type "\map pier".
4. As soon as the map has loaded, immediately enter the console again and type "\demo 1",
then close the console immediately. Timedemo mode is now enabled and the demo is played
back in looping mode.
5. The benchmarking results will be presented on-screen after each completed loop and are
saved to this file: /Far Cry/Levels/Pier/1.log.

Tip: You can stop the timedemo mode with the console command "\stopdemo".

Is there a log or file where your video settings are kept? I have different settings for some effects and I don't really want to type them all out... hehe.
 
with benchemall you can simply specify a custom config with your settings - of course that kind of negates comparing against others, but great to compare to yourself using different settings.

Game runs smooth enough for me 🙂
 
I got average 37.5 at 1024 x 768 aa on med and everything maxed out. Not to good, but I do find it playable and looks great. 9700pro
 
problem with this method... you can still fire your weapons, change them, throw grenades (deform terrain) and all the enemy characters/vehicles are still there, just walking around in "slow motion" as if you're invisible. there's a lot of room for variance, doesn't seem like a "real" benchmark mode.
 
Yeah, it's not entirely indicative of the game itself. Actual scores are going to be a bit lower, because...well...those soldiers, boats, and helicopters aren't going to walk/fly/drive right past you. There will be fighting.

:beer: For those who know...
I've created multiple timedemos with lots of action and ran them many times with different settings,drivers and o/c. So I have a point of reference from my own experience to compare scores with my new 6800GT that I'll have in a week.
Great tool, I use it like 3-4 months now and it's very helpful and easy to use.

I normally use this benchmark, but I'm crazy about it because it's not consistent.

Anyway, this is with my fastest machine (see my specs) at 1280x1024, no FSAA, 4x Aniso, using Cat 4.7. All settings on VERY HIGH, except water which is set to ULTRA HIGH.

Oh yeah, one other thing. Since this thing runs with sound enabled, I have audio set on HIGH w/HW EAX enabled as well.

There is something terribly wrong with your system as those scores are unbelievably slow. Either that or the P4 sucks utter donkey balls in Far Cry.
