I wonder if the multiplayer weapon tweaks carry over to the campaign, or if the MP5 is still about as useful as a featherduster? :p

I wanna know what 6800 owners have to say about this :) If having pixel shader 3 support, really does make a difference.

i'm DLing the patch now(servers seem REAL busy), and i have DX9C with a BFG 6800GT :) will let you know.

EDIT: Just realized you said it came with card :) Thought you got it through SP2

sorry if my wording was misleading, it did not come "with" the card this is a version a bud gave to me, i do not know where he got it.

8 mins left on my fileshack wait, other servers are timing out on me.

Just go to here and get windows update version 5. Then when thats done installing click custom and get the updates that way. SP2 should be at the top of one of the columns.

I loved the mp5 when I played through the game.

Its purpose isn't to rain death from 100 yards across the map, it is for near-silent close up kills, and works wonders for that until you reach the points of the game where they decided the best way to increase difficulty was to drastically increase the armor/hp of your opponents.

I find if I zero in with the sniper rifle first, then switch to the MP5-SD on semi-auto that I can take out guys with head shots so far away I can barely see them even with 4x/8x on. Started using it in the research demo so I could kill across the water from the island you spawn on, but it works well in the full version too.

Could you elaborate on "huge"? I'm waiting in line for the patch so I can't test it yet. BTW, where did you see the increases so I can jump straight to that point, thanks :)

What drivers are best for Farcry performance? I'm currently running 1600x1200 8xAF and my performance sucks, it goes into the 30s at times. I'm using the 61.76 currently.

Little off-topic, but I installed SP2, fixed the driver ini to enable DX9c (6.1.7.6 drivers) Checking in D3D Rightmark, I see PS 3.0 support, VS 3.0 support, but under HOS...no hardware HOS support? Isn't displacement mapping supported?

In the specs for SM3.0 i believe it is. However Far Cry is not a native SM3.0 game so they cant incorporate all ythose features in it without rebuilding the entire 3d engine (i think thats what they would have to do).

places where many effects are viewable- leaking pipes(smoke and heat effects) and shadows. for starters try the map "cooler" where that cool green fog is. for some reason i cannot load regulator, get an error message saying could not load forklift

Same thing here, it does show displacement mapping under the reference rasterizer tab for HOS though.
