I believe COOP does work on campaign. During some of the later missions, they recommending using the coop system so that a friend can help you beat the mission. Some of the fortresses are impossible to take without serious help.
 
Not a whole lot of discussion here, but I just got the game on PS4 and it's sweet. Though I found a REALLY poor map design decision that others are pissed about too. In the first village you start at there's a glider you can use, except there's a tree right in front of it. Try and use it and you hit the tree and fall to your death... EVERY TIME. No way to avoid it, which is ridiculous

Weird there was no tree for me when I first played it. I still have not started the game officially yet but I did play a little bit of it. Its a decent game from what I've seen too.
