Well you can't always go by RT, they have Land of the Dead at 70ish% and that was easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I went with 4 hardcore Romero fans, and everyone of the agreed that the movie blew. God I want my 6.50 back.

Seems your tastes are the opposite of everyone elses. Land of the Dead was a LOT of fun :)

Holy God what the...?
this is from around the time of Never Been Kissed when she played one of the sorority-girl types, but in HS. In the movie, she had a ton of makeup and wacked hair also.

The critics are idiots sometimes. I saw a matinee this afternoon, and it wasn't bad at all. The acting isn't at all bad for an action flic. The citizens in the movie are portrayed as gullible drones, which is disappointing. It would be good to see them as a secondary antagonist, bringing the 4 together as they try to prove their integrity. The evil villian's powers certainly wasn't any worse than Magneto in Xmen. The only difference is they didn't develop his descent into evil with much flair, so he's kind of flat at the end of the movie. You don't end up hating him. Overall, the movie is a pretty good time and I enjoyed it.

J Alba is a decent actress, but the horny young men here can't see her ability because their too busy staring at her breasts. I have always been a fan of hers because she seems like a genuinely good person, and I want to see her succeed.

I think you're too busy staring at her breasts to see her complete lack of acting ability.

EDIT: Look, they mentioned you in one of the reviews!

"It might help if Alba could act, though I doubt her horny legion of fans will complain."

Meh. That was weak.

I guess your argument was too then, it was of about the same caliber.

I just got back from it...

I went in with very low expectations (I previously said there was only a 25% chance of me seeing it in the first place) - not a fan of comic movies in the least. I was pleasantly entertained... and completely agreed with most reviews that said it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. Parts were funny, parts were comical (in the bad sense), but all in all it did its thing. In the end, the audience actually clapped... twice... (if you go, you'll know what I mean). It's no surprise critics bashed this one, this was just a "fun" movie if nothing else. Oh and Johnny Storm rocks.

is this movie decent to take a 6 year old to see? I know about the violence, but he really wants to see it. His mom is planning to take him tommorow, should I warn her about any language, etc...?

There no harsh language that I can even remember... and I saw it an hour ago. (Maybe I just have a really bad memory)

Fvck RT. I go by the opposite of what RT says with 75% of movies I see. Critics don't relate to the common man.

 They gave The Punisher a 28% and I thought that movie was great.

So YOU'RE the guy that liked it! The movie director was looking for you to shake your hand!

Hey, I liked that movie too. Hell, I liked it better than batman!

I'm another who didn't think the Punisher was that bad. The actor Thomas Jane is quite an actor IMO.

just watched the movie this evening. it actually wasn't as bad as the people rated it. other than the fact that it was utterly predictable, it was actually good.

Punisher was one of those films where the writers had a billion good ideas that they couldn't quite figure a way to assemble properly. There was a lot of filler that was boring or stupid, but necessary to link the parts together. This is not how a good script should be.

Thomas Jane certainly played the part well, and John Travolta... eh, the character he played could have been done by anybody who has the slightest inkling of how to act homicidal. The point is thus: while Punisher did not meet the lofty standards set by Spider-Man by any means, it did get me interested enough to say, "man, I hope they have a sequel and hire some better writers next time around."

Punisher by the way was a terrible movie.... attempting to play a sense of humor in a movie that should have had -10% humor was stupid and killed the movie...

At this point I suspect that they will not be doing a sequel, but you never know. If they did wind up doing a sequel or two, I wonder if they might introduce one of the more interesting aspects of the whole Fantastic Four story.

********COMIC BOOK SPOILER***************

Most comic book geeks probably already know this, or perhaps it was decided that it was some sort of alternate reality timeline thingamabob that happened with clones, but it was revealed later that Reed Richards deliberately exposed them all to the cosmic rays. It wasn't an accident at all. If I remeber right, this came out in Fantastic Four Versus The X-Men.

It sucked. Jessica Alba should've turned un-invisible after her underwear came off, not before. They can't even get an eye candy scene right.
