I also went in with low exectations, and decided to forget everything I know about the fantastic four so that I would have some chance of enjoying this movie. I enjoyed it a lot!

Even though they completely got Dr. Doom TOTALLY WRONG (Loki, Dr. Doom is an awesome villan, you just have to get inside his mind. Read Fantastic Four from around 455 to 500. You will LOVE Doom as a villan after that.)
Who was the idiot who decided that Dr. Doom needed powers? Doom is just a man (allbeit a megalomaniacal genius of a man) who relies on his technology (armor, doombots) and magic (he is the second most powerful sorceror on Earth.)
They didn't get enough of the absoloute hatred Doom has for Reed in the movie.

As a movie: B+ for sheer enjoyability. As an adaptation of Fantastic Four: D- for completely missing the point.

WTF cares about a horrible movie that nobody would see if they only knew how horrible it was? Also, WTF cares about a horrible actress who, if not for her body, would be stealing precious air away from us all and food from starving African kids?

And let us all pray to Great Marvel Editor In The Sky that they do a decent job with that. Iron Man could rock...or they could screw it up.

hmm, B+ rating from 1500 non-professional critics on Yahoo.

You know you are a sick stalking fvck, right?

No smiley... I am serious.
I know everything about a couple professional hockey players too. I follow their careers and obviously Alba's too. If you want me to go on, I can. So Jesus H Christ, STFU with your anti-Alba comments in every thread already. It seems you actually care more than I do because it's not like I'm going into ANY thread and saying she's the best actress ever or even the hottest. So quit stalking me you crazyfvck.

I pretty much knew it was going to suck back in April. It was written by the same guy that wrote The Punisher and The Hulk- he screwed up those movies, why would he make this one any better?

It would be like saying "Maybe Joel Schumacher's next Batman movie will be better!"

I find the best way to get an accurate rating of a film is to take a combination of the RT rating and the IMDB rating. Not a straight average, but a combination. RT is a good indication of how many flaws a movie has, and apparently this movie has buttloads of flaws. IMDB is a good indication of how enjoyable the film is overall. Between the two there's a good indication of how good the film is.

FF seems to me like it's going to turn out to be nothing special, probably a film I'll watch and go "I could have done that better." But there's every chance it'll be fun, too.

Fvck RT. I go by the opposite of what RT says with 75% of movies I see. Critics don't relate to the common man.

 They gave The Punisher a 28% and I thought that movie was great.

So YOU'RE the guy that liked it! The movie director was looking for you to shake your hand!

The critics are idiots sometimes. I saw a matinee this afternoon, and it wasn't bad at all. The acting isn't at all bad for an action flic. The citizens in the movie are portrayed as gullible drones, which is disappointing. It would be good to see them as a secondary antagonist, bringing the 4 together as they try to prove their integrity. The evil villian's powers certainly wasn't any worse than Magneto in Xmen. The only difference is they didn't develop his descent into evil with much flair, so he's kind of flat at the end of the movie. You don't end up hating him. Overall, the movie is a pretty good time and I enjoyed it.

J Alba is a decent actress, but the horny young men here can't see her ability because their too busy staring at her breasts. I have always been a fan of hers because she seems like a genuinely good person, and I want to see her succeed.

I think you're too busy staring at her breasts to see her complete lack of acting ability.

EDIT: Look, they mentioned you in one of the reviews!

"It might help if Alba could act, though I doubt her horny legion of fans will complain."

Meh. That was weak.

Critics have their place. Probably 99% of the time, movies I love get critical acclaim, and movies I dislike are lauded by the critics, so their reviews are helpful for me. Most of my friends are the same way. I suppose it just depends on what you like for a good movie.

You might want to look up the definition of lauded.
