Nobody's denying that climate change isn't occurring now...it's quite clear that our climate has been in a constant state of change for millions of years. The worst lies are the ones we tell ourselves.

The problem is that so many people assume that their can only be one form of change occurring. Just because it changes naturally does not mean that there are not man made changes occurring at the same time. It would be best if we were aware of both types of change, and how severe they will be, and yes there will need to be some form of tax and regulation applied to control it.

Agree...but let's let science run it's course before we get too carried away....no? There are just too many significant unknowns right now that we have no clue about.

Science has been running its' course, but the Deniers have been trying to stop it.

Since we've been warmer at two distinct points in the past 2,000 years - science has indeed been running its' course, but the warmists keep ignoring it for their own agenda.

There is nothing unusual about the modern climate.

The only thing to be concerned about is the fear mongering.

Let science run its course, unless of course I see it as a political agenda, in which case gut feelings and hearsay will do and I can turn it into a political debate with boogeymen to attack, unless of course I find bits of science which seem to back up my deep uneducated feelings on the subject, in which case skepticism here I come, even if I have no idea how the scientific process works and even if skepticism can't be viewed through the narrow lense of political agendas, and all scientists have agendas, unless of course they agree with my pet theories, and thousands of independent scientists are motivated by unknown financiers, limitless power, and potential untold riches, except for the small group which disagrees with everyone else, those guys are pure mostly.

Thank-you.

Thank-you.

Exactly. Scientists are in no way influenced by money, politics, or power. They should be given whatever they ask for without question. Their findings should also never be questioned by anyone outside of the scientific community as they are too stupid to understand anyway.

Crap I left that out.

The following has been:

"and thousands of independent scientists are motivated by unknown financiers, limitless power, and potential untold riches, except for the small group which disagrees with everyone else, those guys are pure mostly."

Funny, how we here seem to reverence science so often here on the forum, yet when science is used for political reasons there doesn't seem to be that much of an outcry.

It seems the general reaction has been "We F***ing knew it!"

Since when has opinions had a stake in science?

I separate my religion from my scientific studies, why the hell can't people keep their politics out of my control groups!

Do you? Do you really? Or do you just THINK you do? I might feel sorry for you if every solution that seems to come out of your science didn't include redistributing wealth from one group to another.

Thank you for sharing and making it clear how you "think".

Wow... Not sure why they made a statement that climate change is always happening.

The most ridiculous thing is people like the OP are like "I told you so!!!!"... Uhh no shit dumbass, everybody who knows anything about climatology realizes that climate change is constantly happening. Anthropogenic global warming is overlaid on natural climate change. I've explained it so many times, I don't see how anybody could be stupid enough to just fucking get it.

I guess you failed to read the article?

They admitted the science is far from "settled" on Anthropogenic global warming and that it is far from certain man is having any effect at all. There is "substantial uncertainty."

That right there is reason enough to stop the global carbon tax schemes, as if they ever had any valid reason to try starting them.

No sane person here is denying climate change. But many sane people are making the valid argument that man made climate change is NOT proven, nor is the evidence they have valid reason to start limiting people's energy use.

No sane person here is denying climate change. But many sane people are making the very real argument that man made climate change is NOT proven, nor is the evidence they have valid reason to start limiting people's energy use.

I stopped reading after that stupid statement and just skimmed the rest.

They're playing politics. The chemistry is extremely basic. More greenhouse gas -> more heat retention. You can't increase CO2 WITHOUT increasing the heat retention caused by that CO2. It's just not physically possible.

How much warming is caused by man? The amount that comes with the amount of greenhouse gas we have put in the atmosphere.

As always...thanks for taking the time to condescend to denigrate your intellectual inferiors. I imagine that's it's very difficult for you.

I never realized just how really 'smart' you were. Now I know.

BTW, this is a blatant lie: "'The Royal Society now also agrees with the GWPF that the warming trend of the 1980s and 90s has come to a halt in the last 10 years."

Warming hasn't come to a halt in the last 10 years. This myth is based on one unusually warm year, followed by years that were cooler but trending upward.

It's equivalent to claiming that because it was unusually cold a week ago, and every day since then has been warmer, that spring is on the way instead of fall.

You're the one who fell for this political garbage.
Yes...I admit...I fell for it. And I can see that you're much too smart to fall for such nonsense. When you know it all...who needs the Royal Society to clarify of the current state of climate science. Those dumbasses...everyone knows the chemistry is extremely basic.

Ah, I see, so now you're committing the fallacy of "argument from authority", because they supposedly agree with you.
