Awesomeness. I still would prefer THQ's no DVD-check at all though. Nothing beats firing up a game and not having to worry about looking for the desk, removing what you already have in there and replacing it.

But the question remains... get for PC and play like an FPS with semi-gimped graphics, or go full beauty on PS3...

DRM doesn't ever stop pirates - they just download the non-DRM version. Kinda silly to have any of it if you ask me.

Huh? When has DRM ever stopped a game from being pirated?

Bioshock, the most DRM-laden game ever, was cracked only a couple weeks after its release.

jdelrio22 must work for EA or someone equally as ignorant. Others have already pointed out why Bethesda won't go bankrupt as well the shining examples of other solid companies so I see no need to rehash them.

After posting this news though, the chances of my buying Fallout 3 went from zero to slim.

In terms of features, for Bethesda games: Mods > anything exclusive to consoles. If this is anything like Oblivion, you can bet that mods will be made that greatly improve the graphics shortly after release.

Back on topic, Bethesda's DRM is as far as game devs should go. As others have said, ridiculous DRM does not stop the people who intend to steal the game from the beginning; it only hurts honest customers.

$12.90

Kinda pricey, must be the release of Fallout 3 driving the price up. I picked up Fallout 1 and 2 for 2 dollars at AAFES in 2005.

Does anyone know the state of mods in fallout 3? Is Bethesda making it as easy to intergrate/create mods for Fallout 3 as they did for TES III and IV?

interview with Pete Hines: Fallout 3 Mod Tools ?Not On Our Schedule Right Now."

Translation:
1) We want to sell as much DLC on Live first, including Horse^H^H^H^H^HDog Armor.
2) We want to sell the Construction Set as part of the Expansion Pack for another $50.
3) We can't just expect Modders to use the existing tools and documentation, since Modders are so much more stupid then Developers.

Since Bethesda has already been through this with Morrowind and Oblivion, I would expect much less effort required to follow the same 'footprints', and I would have expected this effort to have been scheduled years ago.

Of course, if Bethesda decides to be a real %#$ about releasing free tools in quick fashion, I *might* expect to see those who are highly experienced with Elder Scrolls Editors and Scripts to 'make' their own Fallout Construction Set.

Are you serious?

All of that stupid horse armor and stupid pirate ship crap pissed me off in Oblivion. Why does Bethesda have to be such an asshole as of late?

QFT.

Bethesda is one of my favorite game companies, but the DLCs just plain suck. Modders have made incredible creations that surpass the developers' toys by miles. I mean, Martigen's Monster Mod adds hundreds of new creatures - not just reskins either, but entirely new models.

Looking forward to this one and the minimal DRM only sweetens the deal. Unless something goes terribly wrong, I definitely see myself buying this on release day.

How ironic that this comes out the same month as the film release of City of Ember. Similar franchise theme of "vault dweller must get out and save our asses!"
