A cow has fallen through the roof of a house in south-eastern Brazil killing a man and narrowly missing his wife.

The one-tonne cow was grazing on a hill behind the small house, in the town of Caratinga, when it stepped onto the asbestos roof, which collapsed under its weight.

Joao Maria de Souza, 45, was lying in bed when the animal fell on him.

He was taken to hospital and died the day after, reportedly of internal bleeding.

Well, that sucks, but it seems like an entirely foreseeable accident to me. The guy had an asbestos roof, so he probably couldn't afford real fencing, but I'm pretty sure I would have improvised something to keep people and animals from walking straight onto my roof.

not really. animals kill animals all the time, and usually in far crueler ways.

🙄 this is really lame.

EVERY animal is "greedy" and their primary concerns are acquiring food and reproducing at the expense of all others. Humans are simply better at it.

So much better, in fact, that we have time and energy to dedicate to caring for the planet and other species. Empathy separates most humans from most animals. Most of these "noble" animals don't give a single fuck about you or any other creature.
