It looks like the Argentinian president will be making an address today. Many are speculating that it will be in regards to severing the only air link between the Malvinas to the outside world.

Argentina's president to raise stakes in address to nation

Times have changed.

Fascinating statements. With the ascendancy of South America and the decline of the UK, it seems inevitable that the Malvinas will go back to their rightful owner at some point.

Please reconsider using such highly-offensive racial slurs in your posts. Thanks. Your analogy isn't even on point. It's almost as if you're just using it as an opportunity to use such a word.

I'm just curious if Rabidmongoose uses ethnic slurs for everyone or just people he doesn't like.

Also how come you find one ethnic slur OK but the other unacceptable? Its like your a racist hypocrite. You dont think ethnic slurs are OK do you?

Except what he used was not an ethnic slur. It's on par with Yank, and according to sources, including Wikipedia, is used within academia.

You used one of the most offensive slurs, almost as if you just wanted an opportunity to use it. Disgusting.

The Argentinian president's speech will be in about 10 minutes or so. It will be interesting to see what other statements she has.

South America is rising, it's undeniable.

Kelpers is a nickname given to Falkland Islanders because the islands are surrounded by large seaweeds called kelp.[1][2]
This term is no longer used as commonly as it once was (largely because it has been used in a derogatory manner by Argentines).[citation needed] Instead most prefer "Falkland Islanders" or even "Bennies".[according to whom?]
The term is used to describe the population in Argentine research papers

So the people who still use it are the ones who like to use it in a derogatory manner.

Yeah that sounds legit.

You are a hypocrite.

You can call me what you want, but you used a highly offensive racist term in a non-logical analogy as if you just wanted an opportunity to do so.

You should be ashamed of yourself. You should have at the least taken it to PM, or used some sort of non-offensive placeholder. This is the type of behavior that is scaring away minorities from P&N.

That would be just the minorities that you like not the ones you don't I suppose.

Also the difference is I'm not calling anybody a derogatory term, I just want to know if RabidMongoose uses those sorts of terms as standard and that one just slipped out.

We could really do without your minority of morons.

"The UK is worse than Hitler and Stalin fucking Jesus Christ in a church on Christmas! Herp derp derp derp." I've literally never met someone with so much hatred for the UK in real life. I imagine you don't interact with people in real life.

Nope, I even want the ones that I disagree with. There used to be so many here, including my arch-nemesis Sultan. But now they're all gone when this forum was invaded by Stormfront wannabes.

The difference is that he used it in the same manner as you use "Yank." Many also use "yank" in a derogatory manner as well.

Also, it doesn't matter if you used it against anyone in this thread or not. Merely using such an incredibly and offensively charged word is suspect. You should not simply refer to a crowd not participating within the thread in such a fashion.

An interesting thing is people often claimed that Argentina instigated the 1982 war due to economic problems within the Argentinian economy. Today, Argentina is using the same argument as to the UK. It's fascinating how the tables have turned.

Malvinas dispute helps ‘to distract UK public opinion’ from serious domestic problems

“London is after issues of big media impact to hide the daily sufferings of Britain with its problems of unemployment, shrinking economy, social unrest by appealing to a very distant situation such is the South Atlantic Islands dispute”, said Boudou.

He added that the all “the bullying we are seeing is geared to distract UK public opinion. Really what we are experiencing is a serious lack of leadership in Europe”.

“They have domestic questions that must be solved such as unemployment and Scotland’s independence referendum and the oil in the North Sea. They must have minds concentrated in other issues to compensate for the floundering support of government and keep strengthening the colonialist spirit”, underlined the Vice-President.

In one of my prior articles, Argentina was stated to have 9 continuous years of strong economic growth.

So you get to decide what is derogatory and what is acceptable? Like I said you're a hypocrite.

I wasn't referring to anyone, in this thread or out of it. I just want to hear if Rabidmongoose uses derogatory terms just for the people he doesn't like or for everyone.

Your post even implied that it's a derogatory term, yet you decided to type a message in such a way that required its use. You could have simply provided a more thought-out response that didn't require the use of a highly offensive racist term.

I wasn't referring to anyone, in this thread or out of it.

It doesn't matter. Do you think it's appropriate to use such incredibly offensive racial slurs in any reasonable political debate that is going on in this thread? Of course not. And especially when your analogy doesn't make sense!

Its telling that you are happy for someone to use a derogatory term directly against people you don't like but are against someone enquiring if the same person is happy to use other like terms.

It seems that if the air link to the Malvinas is cut, the Argentinians may be attempting to make the Malvinas simply too expensive for the British to maintain considering the general decrepit and crumbling state of the UK state.

Argentina accused of plotting Falklands blockade

It is the islands' only air link with South America and their main connection with the outside world. British officials believe the service will disappear in an attempt by Argentina to make the Falklands too expensive for Britain to maintain.

That means you want everyone forced off the islands and they be made uninhabited again? You know, return them to their rightful owners, which is no one...at least that is how they were before the UK found them and populated them.

Actually, I didn't know that was an offensive term for the people who reside in the Malvinas, but I don't think that they are a specific ethnic group. Such terms frequently have regional differences, for example we have many UK people here who spit out ethnic slurs, but those same terms are not considered ethnic slurs in the US and other places. Sometimes it's dependent upon context.

Anyways, do you have support that claims that the Malvinas people are of a unique ethnic group?

Moreover, I don't mind not using that term if it is considered a derogatory word for the people who live in the Malvinas. I'm fine with that. Now I only hope that others here, such as yourself, would refrain from using other derogatory language.

To me Argentina is escalating the conflict by implementing these sanctions. You can argue all you want on who should own the Falklands. However at this time, the Falklands are recognized British territory and the UK is within their rights to respond.

No, they can stay on the island and Argentina can regain control of them. It is my position that Argentina is the rightful owner of the Malvinas. I have no idea how the UK, which is so far away from the Malvinas and only are there due to conquest, can be the rightful owner of the Malvinas.
