I haven't seen a lot of Nazi propaganda films, but I can assure you I don't need to see them to have an informed opinion about them...

Easy. After watching previous Moore films, and seeing how he slices and dices things to mislead the viewer while claiming it is fact, I would say that this movie is going to be the same thing. Henceforth, it is going to be a piece of feces.

I'm going to download it on Kazaa

Fahrenheit 911 review

It is not a Movie it is Misinformation plain and simple aka Propaganda. This is a work of FICTION he is not a journalist he is a movie making traitor that rather see America fall just because of the current administration than see America do well.

If you believe the same then you need to move to FRANCE or Spain.

lol...i cant stand moore, even though I do agree with most of the things he has to say, I may or may not see this movie, if I do I will probably wait till it comes out on video, in case I get so frustrated I have to turn it off...I am not a Bush supporter and will vote against him this election, but the way Moore blows things out of proportion to get his point across annoys me in almost all of his movies

if he stuck to the facts I think he would be much more pursuasive

Ebert gave 'Bring it On' a thumbs up! HE KNOWS HIS MOVIES!
As long as he gave a thumbs down to "You Got Served" and "Gigli" he's still better than most.

I'm not sure about those but he also gave thumbs up to 'Josie and the Pussycats' if that matters to you.

What's wrong with Josie and the Pussycats? Hot chicks, decent music, and funny.

I dont really even know if he is trying to persuade. His audience is already set. They believe him. It just gives them a chance to rally and say, "Look! Look! We are right!" He isnt going to change the minds of people that dont have his view. So, his main agenda is making the cold hard cash. To become fat, rich and happy, and by becoming rich he becomes what he claims to despise. Oh well, at least he has fat on lockdown.

another intelligent assertion from someone who has not seen the film. Also, everyone should know this so listen. The great thing about America is that we can voice our opinion without the threat of repression and violence that many others around the world have to deal with. If you don't like something about this country then voice your opinion, those who suggest you move have absolutely no respect for the freedoms we enjoy here, so maybe they should move.

ebert is the most educated film critic alive. he has such a huge knowledge base of movies, it is amazing.
i saw bring it on and josie and the pussycats. i liked bring it on but not josie. big deal. doesn't mean he doesn't have his own eclectic taste.

anyway with regards to fahrenheit, such strong comments from people who haven't even seen it yet...

Well, I dont give a rats ass what his views are. He hates the Bush administration. Ok. I dont really care. I just hate that he presents his movies as news or documentary, when they are far from that.

From what I was given to understand he came out and said this was an opinion piece. Technically still a documentary, but an opinion piece documentary all the same.

Well, unless he has drastically changed his style than this movie will be the same as his others. Directors rarely change. I hate John Woo films. They are all the same so when the next Woo film is released I wont go see it because I know that it will be the same as his others. This is the same thing as Moore. While entertaining, his movies are not documentaries. I just wish he wouldnt call them that.

Thats fine that it is an opinion piece. The main problem I have with him is that to get his opinion accross his uses crafty editing to make it seem like what he is saying is truth. I find him entertaining, dont get me wrong. And I dont really care about his politics. I have my views, he has his.

Technically, it is a discrace that the movie industry waived their definition of what a documentary is just so they could make a political statement by giving him an oscar...

He doesn't make documentaries!

Actually I'm not sure the academy considers the definition of documentary,
but the definition of a documentary according to Merriam-Webster is

Documentary - of, relating to, or employing documentation in literature or art; broadly : FACTUAL, OBJECTIVE

Now the key words are broadly : Factual, Objective.
Calling his movies that is simply a stretch.

Thats my only issue with Moore is that he tries to pass his obviously SUBJECTIVE movies off as OBJECTIVE.

Question to those who believe this movies is the cold hard truth. Do you take political attack ads at face value?
