Mike,

Thanks for the compliment ...

I suppose you and others have begun to notice that I am getting the "spring" back in my step. Must be those new drugs the new Dr. is giving me. I'm making more progress in a few days than I have for months under the old "plan".

I continue to ramp up production. I'm practically foaming at the mouth in anticipation of laying a dust hurricane on hob.

I'm also dazed and confused by the numbers that I crunch. It's really crass for me to say this but one or two computers offline isn't all that significant. I've had computers offline for a month or longer and never realized it by looking at the stats. For some of the team, one computer offline may be a major portion of that member's production. I got into the spirit last night and added another dozen or so P4 2.x nodes (might be a baker's dozen). I guess the point is that most of my production is more limited at this point by the ability to manage the hordes rather than the opportunity, permission, and access to computers running 24x7. Don't take me the wrong way but it is definitely a major job to manage as many nodes as I have crunching.

Rebel Alliance Rules!

mondo

Mondo I know how much work it is. I had some 60 machines crunching seti for a while plus 18 at home. so believe me I know.

Where do you guys get all these pc's ???
All I can manage is 2 full time, a P3 800 running when my son gets home from school and FaD installed on my Mums pc, which doesn't run very often :(

Our family had one, but with my sister and I both in school we needed another. I only have 2. I am very interested to see how someone can amass a 60 pc fleet.

Actually I should have grabbed the other image. I meant the supercomputer. Not the fiber channel RAID.

I was running seti on the machines at work with permission and when that permission was withdrawn I stopped. Almost the machines was 30 hp 2400xp machines and another 20 pos machines ranging from 1700 xp to 2000xp.

Although my "fleet" is much smaller than 60 (I wish), my situation is the same. Work provides me with an extra 20 computers or so, in addition to my home and friend computers. Although I am lucky enough to be able to give myself permission. Sorry to hear your loss of access freewolf.

I for one anm grateful for all the "behind the scenes work" being done.

Props to you mondobyte for the efforts you've made while ailing.

Jim your accomplishments and those of hundreds of others is what keeps me smiling here:p

I am awed by the sheer dedication that everyone on this team has shown.

Truth is that most of the parts come from Japan, China, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore with just a few parts made here in the good ole' U.S.A. ;)

mondo

p.s.

I suspect but it would take some work to confirm ... that I have a minimum of 100 nodes running most of the time ...

Mondo have you been keeping up with Geoff's work on the stats page? You can track your nodes .

Mondobyte, how many do you have running in your house? Just curious.

Actually, I love GoeffS site but ...

I run Network Queue Servers and have very few stand-alone nodes.

Network Queue Servers - 6 (ranging from 18-45 nodes per Queue Server)
Stand-Alone nodes - 3

... and then there are the many "aliases" that I run - i.e. Candles R US that don't even get counted into my mondobyte stats :D

... and, of course, there are the other DC projects that I run too .... SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!

That does make it harder.
Why don't you bring them all into the herd?

Freewolf,

Actually, I once had visions of consolidating the hordes under a single nickname but each time I get serious about actually doing it, it seems simpler to just bring another few new nodes online and just let the ones that are on autopilot alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

mondo

A reasonable question is how many nodes (processors / instances) of FaD does Rebel Alliance front for???
