Those foodsteps behind you should be just a little louder now.😎

I'm waiting for a couple of HSF's, then I can get an XP 2000 up and running in a good Asus board. I also have an ECS board that always gave me trouble but I could always upgrade the Xp 2000 to something faster and put it back in the ECS.

Looks like your topic title could get a bit repetitive 😀

Yeah ... that did occur to me too ... so ... I called a grand council of the Hordes to discuss the issue. I put liberal amounts of viagra on the table and suggested that hob was in our sights. The Hordes were quite encouraged and are rampaging, pillaging, and raping ... here they come hob! Oh ... and they said they would spread liberal amounts on the way so that others who are coming up the ranks can have thier way with hob as well ...

Sorry folks, hob and I have some history. It's high time I put him in his place ... behind me!!!

Sounds good to me!

Here is my real quandary ....

At what point can I consider myself a "real" or "major" player in FaD as opposed to a being just a "wannabe" or "second stringer".

I figure when I reach 6th ... I pass that line ... if every so briefly before I get smacked down by those who are eating my lunch behind me. It appears that I am doomed to recede to 10th or worst ... it is just a matter of time.

What do you folks think??? Can I consider myself a "real" player ... or am I still a "wannabe"???

Enquiring minds what to know. 😉

Well, if you are not a player, then what are the rest of us? I would say that the major movers are anyone in the top 25 or so. But more than overall points, the majority of the daily work comes from newbies that have not been with the project for very long. There are a lot of old players in the top 100 that do not contribute much anymore... just my two cents.

hmmm ...

I do think that I contribute a bit everyday ... I don't think anyone could say that I am resting on my laurels ... so to speak ..

mondo

heh... I think top 10 of any project constitutes Major Player status... without assimilating my entire company, I don't see myself ascending to that status

You've been there Geoff, you're still in the D²OL top 10 members at #8 😀

Edit:
Just remembered my D²OL node 455 was in the top 10 nodes for ages 😀 😀

I'm truly amazed that anyone person can put up those kind of numbers. I can't began even think of putting up those kind of numbers by myself. Not even when I was lucky enough to have a good size work fleet. Which is one of the reasons the Rebel Alliance was formed so together us smaller crunchers could take on the big guns with the huge work fleets that alone we was nothin but a bump in the road to.

I deserve a  for being a spec of sand in the road of life

You guys amaze me with the numbers you crunch lol

I am lucky if I can keep up with 2 or 3 teammates at a time.

Never mind chew up the track the way you guys do 😛

But I'll gladly eat the dust shot from beneath your cpu cycles to enjoy the races and sportsmanship I see daily.

One of the great things I enjoy about being on the Rebel Alliance is getting to see our numbers go up, and knowing that I played such a small part in the big picture, & its the same with TAS. I love knowing that even though I will never be a super power in the crunching world, I am on a team of super crunchers 😛

You Guys ROCK!!!!!!

Mondo, you have been and always will be a Super Power in my eyes 🙂
And that goes for the rest of you too 😛

Mike it's guys like you and Doc that makes the RA a super team.

Mike,

Thanks for the compliment ...

I suppose you and others have begun to notice that I am getting the "spring" back in my step. Must be those new drugs the new Dr. is giving me. I'm making more progress in a few days than I have for months under the old "plan".

I continue to ramp up production. I'm practically foaming at the mouth in anticipation of laying a dust hurricane on hob.

I'm also dazed and confused by the numbers that I crunch. It's really crass for me to say this but one or two computers offline isn't all that significant. I've had computers offline for a month or longer and never realized it by looking at the stats. For some of the team, one computer offline may be a major portion of that member's production. I got into the spirit last night and added another dozen or so P4 2.x nodes (might be a baker's dozen). I guess the point is that most of my production is more limited at this point by the ability to manage the hordes rather than the opportunity, permission, and access to computers running 24x7. Don't take me the wrong way but it is definitely a major job to manage as many nodes as I have crunching.

Rebel Alliance Rules!
