That was almost a good comeback, but this is not third grade anymore and the simple ones are just childish. Did you actually have an original comeback or do you just admit you are a dickhead? Hey, don't feel so down about it. At least he dog has balls and you don't!
You only have balls to be a cyberpunk on AT forums. So get off your high horse.
I thought that was your MO? Watch out for the e-thug everybody! He might threaten you online!

Why do you denounce others about e-thugging when you're guilty of it.

You're a fscking hypocrite to boot. Get a life man.

How am I guilty of it? ;) Hey, I can't help it that you are 5'5 and have Napoleonic tendencies! You will feel better if you admitted you were acting like an asshat.

Evan, no I'm not 5'5".

And you're a hypocrite.

How so? BTW, don't act like you know me. If you do then send me a PM.

Enough quoting.

You cannot take the stance that someone else is an e-thug when you are.

That is all.

I am an animal lover and the dog will be fine. If the thread was about his dog being run over I wouldn't joke.

The porcupine did in fact own the dog.

So what.

I don't think it is funny when it is OBVIOUS the dog is in/will be in a lot of pain. Laugh all you want dude.

damn, poor dog, he really is a beautiful looking dog in that "normal" pic.

But he looks like a tough dog so I'm sure he will be back to 100% as long as he sees a professional to get those quills out.

Kiyup,
At the moment your 'humor' is rubbing me the wrong way, but to each his own....

As far as how my dog reacted to pulling them out.... pretty damn painful, and that would be an understatement... she has one that went in her front lip, and is sticking out on the bridge of her nose... not going to mess with that one.... She still has about a half dozen in her, and I am taking her to the vet in the morning and they can get the rest...

The sounds that came out of her when I pulled some of the deep ones out was enough to break my heart... but she seems to be pretty comfortable for now...

Thanks for everyones concern.... well, most of you anyway...

Did you snip the ends of the quills off before pulling them out? IIRC, they're hollow, and the hardness is due to them being filled with air. They become much more pliable once they're depressurized.

Help the dog, then laugh about it.

One of my sisters is a vet, and my mother is married to a vet. My mother always has had dogs, and most dogs try to attack a porcupine once in their lives. Most learn not to pretty quickly.

The dog will be fine with some treatment, you just have to hope she doesn't try to take revenge later on.

Oh, and it's not as bad as a dog who is allergic to bees and tries to kill every single one she meets. She has been stung in the mouth and nose countless times, and each time she requires medicine to reduce swelling and pain.

that pwned picture was not kosher. that would be like taking a picture of my sister after being in a car accident and putting pwned on it.

and no, no pics.

Shrug, the dog will be fine. It's like a kid who finds out for the first time that walking into a door hurts. It sucks for them, but they'll learn from the experience.

According to one of the links above, this is an old wives tale ...

Stay away from using scissors! Cutting a quill to ?let the air out? is an old wives? tale. There is no benefit from cutting the quill. In reality, it may even make matters worse. It can cause small pieces to splitter off and get buried beneath the skin. If this happens, rarely can you retrieve the tiny pieces.

Hope all works out well! ... Sounds like this happens more often then you'd think.

BTW, huesmann, the vet doesn't do anything special to get them out other than to use anestetics so the dog doesn't feel all of the pain.

But aren't you just supposed to clip the END of the quill, not clip it all the way to the skin?

Did you take the dog to the Vet yet? Even if you get all the quills out you may have missed one and that would not be good. Best to just go for a checkup at least.

I feel the need to address the argument.
GET OVER IT! Punks are only punks if you perpetuate their childish behavior. Ignoring it will make it go away.

For your dog, I'll go out and shoot 3 porcupines this weekend.

(Have to anyway... they've been getting destructive too close to the house)

In my experience, you'd be surprised how dedicated a dog can be. I remember as a kid my step father's doberman sliced it's nose open pretty bad on a camping trip. The dog sat patiently while my father stitched up his nose using a modified fishing hook and some fishing line. I would remove the barbs myself, one at a time and put some Neosporin on them and the pup should be okay.
