Again, the military had operations in motion to capture and/or destroy it and Obama called them off. He thought asking nicely and using the magic word would work.
 
My question is, why aren't these things equipped with 5 pounds of C4 that goes off if certain safety parameters are violated or also triggerable by its operators?

If the drone was hacked and Iran had complete control, how is the operator going to trigger a self destruct?
 
The last footage that was captured by the drone after it went down, was an Iranian soldier teabagging the camera on said drone.

Obummer must have raged quit after that - LULZ!!!!shift+1!!!

It could be kept on a completely different circuit from the rest of the systems. It could passively monitor the telemetry but be hardwired such that hacking can't interact with it. If it sees confusing info from the telemetry, boom. If the operator loses contact, he triggers destruction. Lots of other ways.

yep, it could have a watchdog looking for some periodic control signal and if it doesn't get it -> self destruct

As a sidenote:
As an electrician with a little bit of RF background :
The plain will land when the communication is lost yes ?
What if the Iranians where able to find out at what frequencies communications between the drone and the command center where taking place ? Would it then not be possible to send out a high power signal directed at the receiving frequency for the drone. Then the drone will no longer receive any commands because the receiver inside the drone will not be able to decode commands properly and assume communication was lost.
It is similar as that you whisper to me and another person starts shouting next to you. I will not be able to hear you and i have to assume lost communication.

But even then, i would assume the drone would fly back to a preprogrammed set of coordinates (GPS) and land outside enemy territory behind friendly borders. If this is not the case, then that is a huge design flaw.
I would think the drone malfunctioned or the drone has design flaws.

I don't think it would be practical to commit a full-blown act of war to recover a vehicle we sent to spy over another sovereign. This would have been like bombing the USSR until they returned Francis Gary Powers. It's also quite likely we had no way of knowing the precise location of the drone, particularly since it apparently thought it was in Afghanistan as a result of hacking, and would presumably have reported that, even assuming we still had any telemetric/radio communication with it.

Are you a retard? We're not at war with Iran. We can't just lob bombs at their facilities to destroy unmanned craft we sent there in the first place.

This would make sense, but I'd be worried if iran actually took control of the drone, or if somebody else hacked them, they could just blow them up.
 
It was only recently that some member of congress was singing the praises of the drone technology because of its stealth capability and that no soldier would be put in harms way. The defense department will have some explaining to do when they come up to Capitol Hill to ask for more funding. They should consider some of the ideas mentioned here, but they can't discuss it for...security reasons.
 
You guys are really missing the boat on this one. Did you notice how large that thing is? Haven't you seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail? The part with the Trojan Bunny Rabbit? It's a Trojan Drone. Chuck Norris and Dick Cheney are inside there and sneak out at night to steal Iranian intelligence.

Sheesh, I'm surprised nobody else picked up on this....
