F22, really beautiful

In hindsight, it probably wasn't necessary. Fighters are more and more just becoming missile platforms because of AWACS and other infrastructure. The F35 would probably have sufficed until the next gen of unmanned fighters. It's going to be a LONG time before China or anyone else can challenge us in the air & by that time we will be on the next gen with unmanned fighters.
 
Here are a few of my favorite pictures I've gotten from the F-22, every time I see it fly, it amazes me.

The Blue Angels and the F-18A are incredible as well
In their diamond formation, it's 18 inches from wingtip to cockpit... an amazing feat.

If you guys like looking at aviation pics, discussing aviation, etc, you should check out airliners.net. The pics I posted earlier in this thread are hosted there, all of them taken at BFI.

And instead of the arguing that goes on here between left and right, dems and repubs, we argue Boeing vs. Airbus, US vs Europe!
