6.0 found my South Park Hearts game which contains ShowBehind adware...neither 5.8 or spybot ever identified this.

Good goin 6.0! :)

I think its definitely best to use both spybot and Adaware...better safe than spied. :)

Thanks.

Just downloaded, updated ref file, and ran the app. Found 28 files. Nice.

Sweet. Thanks for the heads up! I've been wondering why they didn't have reference updates recently.

So far looks like the new Ad-aware finds the most now.

Tested both Ad-Aware and Spybot, and each was just updated again this week, so both have latest curent files.

Total crap in my PC was 53.
Ran Ad-aware first, and it found 49 which it put in Quarantine, so I could restore it.
Then ran Spybot, which found the remaining 4, which consisted of 2 additional Gator entries, a Media Player thing, and another cookie.

Next I opened Ad-Aware, and restored the 49 items in Quarantine.
Ran Spybot, and it only found 18 (plus the additional 4 it deleted above for 22 total).
Then ran Ad-aware, and it found the remaining 31, which were all BAD cookies.

So Spybot missed a lot of the bad cookies (31), which Ad-Aware found.
Ad-Aware found most things, including 3 Gator entries, but missed 2 Gator entries in IE/Downloadstuff.

Is there any internet documentation for the product? Or just the help that comes with the software?

I was looking earlier in the day for this release and their site only had the professional version available. It stated the shareware version would be out sometime in the next week. Boy was that a fast week!

It only costs $19 to get the pro version and your helping the lil' software companies so I bought it. I really like 5.X but it kept missing Baebie and some others. 6.0 didn't miss any of it. Thanks Lavasoft!

Is there any way to get the updated ref defs if you are stuck behind a firewall ( like bleh.. I am at work )? The auto-update program reports an error and cant grab them.

This version gives me BSOD's during its scan in XP Home. I did not try it on my other machine yet.

thx - just tried it for the first time - seem very nice.

Does buying the upgraded version give you better cleaning spyware capability - or just some more bells and whistles ?

Also - anyone try the register editor ?

Good idea and I plan on buying Ad-aware Pro, it's a bargain for only $19.

What are the differences between Adaware, Adaware Plus and Adaware Pro?
