F@H Win 2000 Crashing!

I think that the title says it all. When I try to load either one of these programs my system crashes not just bue screen it reboots. I really would like to run the graphical verson. HELP

I don't run F@H myself, but in my experience whenever that happens it is due to overheating or an unstable (too high) overclock. Either that or your PSU is just barely providing enough power and the extra drain from running the CPU at full load is causing it to reset.

What is your CPU temperature at idle and under load?

You should run PRIME95 and MEMTEST on the system to make sure that your CPU and RAM are both working properly.

I've got it on a W2K box with out problems. I agree with Fardringle about the heat issue or PSU do you have specs on the machine?

EDIT: Could you look in your bios and also tell us the voltage the CPU has on it?

well it's a Dell need I say more. Precision 340, 2.4 P4 northwood 512 Ram running at 3.07 volts there is no Temp sensor . System runs super pi 32 with no probloms. again Help.....

Whoa...I really hope it's not at 3.07V! :Q

that is what CPU-Z states and there are no settings in the bios for this. any one know what brand board this may have??? foxcomm I'm thinking.

I've run the console on Win2K also. So it is not likely an OS problem.

Is the system brand new? Or could the heatsink/fan be dusty?

How long does F@H run before the computer reboots?

Some WUs work the computer harder, what is the number of the projects WU?
