He's cpu limited. At 1024x768 2xAA 8xAF I score 42/78/165, (gtx@450/1200)with rig in sig.
But from what I suspect from the benches is that cpu is essential at low framerates in this game by far more than average comparing same cards at same clockpseeds.
At such low fps for everyone in such a demanding game everyone should be concerned with the low dips in teens. And as resolutions move to gpu limited ones differences are becoming much smaller in this game.

Keys am I wrong or did u just buy the 7800gtx? If so congrats m8.

Yup, thanks. just got it about a month ago. Was waiting on this PCI-e SKT 478 mobo from Albatron to arrive so I could use my 478 P4 and DDR. The card is quite the powerhouse
even though held back by my CPU. I will most likely upgrade my platform next year if I can hold out. But from the looks of the FEAR demo and CoD2 demo, I am in good hands as of right now.

Rig below,

with 78.01 drivers (official):

min: 23
avg: 39
Max: 87
1% below 25fps
64% between 25-40fps
35% above 40fps

with XG 78.05 HD drivers:

min: 24fps
Avg: 39fps
Max: 78fps
1% below 25fps
61% between 25-40fps
38% above 40%

Both drivers were with STOCK speeds (500/900), and OCed tests will be run later.

Overall, with the 78.05 drivers, it runs a little faster in general, but the max FPS is cut down slightly. Stuttering is minimized for the most part (still have yet to try bf2 though) and the IQ looks great!

Settings:
CPU- Maximum (with sound at medium)
GPU- high/maximum (no soft shadows, 4xAA, volumetric lights at medium)

Overall I'm impressed with the performance of the game on such a "crappy" rig :D

Weird.

I didn't write it down.. but here's the jist:

Average: 68fps (2xAA,16xAF,no soft shadows, water = medium)
Average: 69fps (2xAA,16xAF,soft shadows = yes, water = medium)
Average: 70fps (2xAA,16xAF,soft shadows = yes, water = high)
Average: 50fps (4xAA,16xAF,soft shadows = yes, water = high)

All at 1024 x 768..

Weird results.. but I like them. My guess is that I'm cpu limited without the 4xAA.. (Run on an A64 3800+ with a 7800GTX stock)

47 FPS min
67 FPS avg
101 FPS max

below 25 fps - 0%
25-40 fps - 0%
above 40 fps - 100%

Asus P5WD2 Premium
P4 3.8GHz
2 x 1GB PC2-6400 (DDR2-800)
XFX 7800GTX

There's quite some inconsistancies here I think and some amazing scores. Perhaps someone could produce a default config file so that all settings are the same. ;)

I kind of did, but nobody seems to follow it. Here it is again:

1024x768
x2 aa/x4 af
physics: maximum
soft shadows and volumetrics lights: off
settings in general:med/high, no minimums

The reason I choose these settings is because people without the 7800 series won't really get a decent score with the settings set any higher. Apperantly that's very few on these forums :p
If you do choose a higher setting please tell us how much better it looked than running at the settings I listed.
Also, for some reason I get horrible frames in some places in multiplayer. I'm guessing it's my 1 GB of ram as during the second round of the map there were alot less of those laggy spots. Probably 1 GB doesn't have enough space to cache everything during the first load, or even the second. Also, why are there absolutely no servers? Is it just me or can nobody see any servers. When I hosted one it filled up pretty quickly. I was the only one to host a server as far as I can tell.

EDIT: Im just extremely stupid and forgot to click the find servers button LOL.

2.51ghz 3800x2
ocz plat 2x1gb 2-3-2-7-1t
7800gtx 500/1353

FEAR OP'S SETTINGS: 54.90.188/0.0.100

FEAR MAX12x10: 27.44.93/0.54.46 MAX10X8: 39.64.147/0.4.96

First numbers are fps, second numbers are the fps distribution. Overall they both don't look so great. Jaggies here and there even at maxed 12x10. I'm not happy with the (non)progress of today's 3d technology.

35 FPS min
52 FPS avg
62 FPS max

below 25 fps - 0%
25-40 fps - 13%

I think I am being limited on my CPU more than anything... yeah I know running a P4 will slow me down.

I play at 1280x960 with everything maxed except soft shadows off. My Avg is 39 FPS.

Edit: That is of course without AA or AF.

Are you guys just using the "test performance settings" or something like that in the settings page? Or is there a specific timedemo? I'm getting really low numbers on 10x7 with my 6800GT, wonder why...

Can't wait to see what the new rig'll do :
Sempron 3400+, Abit NV8, 2GB, Maxline III, 6600GT.
You can be d*mn sure I'm going to overclock the brains out of the Sempron and 6600GT :D

no AA, no volumetric, no soft shadows, 4AF, textures med, shadows med, water med, rest max

42,63,141 fps
0,0,100 %

I think I tried 16AF and the benchmark didn't seem to change that much, maybe just an 1 fps or 3.
