Whoa! Just saw on the news that an F-18 has crashed into a residential neighborhood in San Diego. Hope it's not bad. This was on CNN.

edit: pilot ejected
Was supposed to land at Miramar.

edit: crashed into house.firefighters are there. House looks demolished. Video on MSNBC now.

edit: one pilot's parachute may not have opened 🙁

update: 3 or 4 civilians (2 children) dead, one pilot who is okay, 2 houses, 2 cars destroyed.

Not good, especially if it was fully armed. 🙁

Any word on if the pilot was able to bailout? Story is not up on Reuters yet.

My condolences to anyone who was harmed or experienced property damage.

yea, i had a coworker who's wife was in the area of the crash. she's ok, but apparently it took out a couple of houses. I hope there was noone in them at the time.
 
Damn it sucks when things like this happen, especially when you think about it, you have a better chance of winning the lottery than to have a F-18 fighter jet crash into your house. 🙁

Extremely lucky that the damage was limited to just that relatively small area. Could have easily been worse.
