Extra money to defend DOMA quietly approved by House GOP

I realize $2M is chump change to the federal government, but whether it's $2 million or $2.00... it's still a waste of taxpayer money defending a law that only an ever shrinking minority wants on the books and enforced.

The only party wasting money in a lawsuit against the government is the government that created the law. If they didn't want to get sued, they shouldn't have written a law that could be construed as unconstitutional.

I seriously doubt that HOR Repubs have the Constitutional authority to direct funding in this way w/o concurrence of both the Senate and the President.

The SCOTUS is asking about that, too-
