I go to this MMA place near my gym. I joined primarily because it's an awesome work out. Right now I'm cutting and my diet is good. Not drinking too much on the weekends atm for that sake.

Let me lay it out:
m = boxing, t = wrestling, w = juijitsu, th = muay thai/standup/gnp
Edit: Sessions are about 1 - 1.5hrs long. Depends when I get out of work.

Been busy at work lately so I make it to 2/3 classes a week. I try to run or do some form of cardio at least one day during the weekend.

Is the martial arts thing above an ok replacement for regular cardio or should I be doing additional work also?

I'm doing a GVT(10x10) routine and lift 3x a week currently.

Extra cardio may help with your performance at these sessions. However, if you're doing too much, it may exacerbate overtraining. Like everyone else has asked - what are your goals?

I think I recover the same as anyone else.

Well short term goal: I'm going to the beach in a few weeks. Trying to get my bf as low as possible. I'm definitely 10% or less. I'm pretty skinny right now but I definitely lost a lot of fat and muscle when i was training for the marathon. I was doing mma and doing the marathon rookie program w/out really increasing my calories enough. Should have eaten a lot more.

For straight cardio I've been alternating between sessions of biking, HIIT on the bike, Interval training on the elliptical, running on the tread, and just started rowing. I want to learn to swim because I would like to try a triathlon. I can kind of swim now but I'd probably drown if I wasn't near the wall/ground.

GVT is German Volume Training. Just a simple program that I've done in the past for maybe 3 - 4 weeks at a time. Nice way to mix things up a bit. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/luis13.htm. I think there's a version 2.0 and 3.0 on T-mag somewhere.

On boxing days we drill. Usually 3 minute rounds of drills with 30 seconds - 1 min of rest. Followed with calisthenics. Once in a while we spar. It's a small gym so doesn't happen too often currently. Wrestling we drill and then wrestle for 30 - 40 minutes. 2-3 minute rounds with 1-2 minute rest. Starting mostly from the knees currently. Juijitsu drill/and then roll for 30-40 minutes. 2-3 minute rounds about 30 seconds - 1 minute rest currently. Starting from knees mostly. Muay Thai we do drills from the clinch mostly. Sometimes we'll "wrestle" while in the clinch or 50/50.

So basically I'm just trying to get as lean as possible w/out overdoing it. I could probably eat more but my goal is to lean out so I'm not sure if that would be the best option. Does that make sense? It's not like I'm going for a lose weight fast thing. I eat clean 6 days a week. The 7th day of the week not always so good lol. Maybe a little too much alcohol also. I've been "dieting" for a couple months now at least. Dieting stronglifts style.
