Extended through ??/??/200?: Q6600 Boxed version for $200 + tax: MicroCenter B&M and online.

Atleast they wised up and prevented the resellers from buying all the q6600's up when the store opens by limiting one per household. Waiting for the release of the Q9450 next month.

anyone know if B&M microcenters have a pricematch policy to their website?
they have a "buy online, pickup instore" checkout option but the prices don't match between their online items and ads like this one.

Yeah, I was gonna wait for the Q9450 but Intel make the multiplier so low it will be pretty hard to OC the Q9450. i figure I'd probably ended up with similar OC'ed speed, or within 10% so if I can find a G0 stepping in Microcenter, I am gonna go ahead and get one.

You'r in Lexington. That is about an hour (or so) from the Cincinnati MC.

It would be cheaper to order online and pay more than to drive to Cincinnati and buy this one! 😛

stay away from my Cincinnati MC. I live about 15 minutes from it. Friend's dad works there too.

Lets see its 183 miles to me front door.

Thats 6 gallons of gas x 2 for round trip at $3.00 a gallon.

Thats $36.00 + tax of 5 % on the purchase, thats $10.00.

so $246.00 total - 6 hours driving time

HMMM, naw not worth it to save $20.00

and now since CompUSA closed down we have no Big Box Computer store in Hampton Roads at all, we had 3 CompUSA's.

Some company has got to see the oportunity here and throw up a fry's or Microcenter.

Me too! I live 15 miles from it and go there often!

Saw the e-mail in my inbox and called my brother up as he's been looking to build a new C2 rig after I demo'd some games for him on my rig. Picked it up at lunch and the guy knew right away asking if I got the e-mail about the sale. He said Intel has been pushing MC and other retailers to get rid of them because they had so much stock (there's at least 20 more at the Rockville, MD location). Probably due to 45nm Penryn quads coming out soon and overall high yields on 65nm but at $211 after tax its a great deal. 45nm is certainly a good option but for those who want a bit more FSB flexibility it might be better to go with the 1066MHz FSB instead of 1333/1600.

Picked one up this morning from the MI store, they had about 40 left when I left. Asked specifically for the SLACR code and he said all the boxes he checked just then were those so lot's of G0's. Also grabbed a E4500 for $99.99 😀
