- It's against the rules to resell, have a look at the T&C
- They provide full DNS management since today (control panel)
- You can remove the transfer lock of your domain in the control panel
- They set up http://cancel.1and1.com meanwhile

Any more doubts? :)

anyone experience a removal?

I created my domain at godaddy and they said i needed to use 1and1 dns servers or they were going to cut my domain. I wrote them like 5 times and told them i transfered at godaddy and used the dns servers. But they kept warning me, but now they have cut it off, but the website is still there. When i try to add the domain again, it says its temporarily unavailable. Any one else exprience these kinds of things? I guess you get what you pay for. Their customer service is whack, and the number they give you to call is busy all the time.

I'm getting temporarily unavailable when I try to add my domain from godaddy as well. Kind of annoying, hopefully its a problem on their side.

Another question here,

I registered with 1and1 on the last day for the deal and looks like it's all in order, but i havent got a domain yet...do i still get the free 3 years of hosting if i didn't register a domain before the deal was over?

When the account gets signed up, eventually 1and1 will send you an e-mail where you sign in to the administration page.

When you sign into the administration page, you'll see a very generic summary labeled "Contract Overview" and towards the bottom of that page, you'll see the url to your 1and1 web space. It is something like "s9nnnnnnn.onlinehome.us" for all intent and purposes, this is your domain. People can browse this site and see content that you make available.

At this point, most folks will then point their own personal domain to the 1and1 site. However, you do not need to have a personal domain pointed to 1and1 in order to browse the 1and1 site.

I hope this helps.

You get the free 3 years of hosting regardless if you register for a domain or not. I haven't yet and it's been like a month now.

cbsurfer,
Their admin is slow. I don't know what app. you used for ftp. Did you use the recomended ftp app. and list it with them ? Also, I noticed that one of your images is of an entire webpage that is copywrited. That might be an issue. You might want to use just the picture image ,instead.

Kit,
in the Control Panel, there is a place for you to initialize your MySQL database.
after you do that, you get your database's name/password and location.
use these values to set up any php you do (they will usually go in config.php)

I signed up for this deal a few months ago -- when all the software was download-able for free.
I downloaded NetObjects Fusion 7.0, and love it!
Now, I notice you can get Fusion 7.5 free + $6.99 shipping. (no more free downloads :( )

Question: Has anyone "upgraded" from 7.0 to 7.5? And were there noticable improvements?

I'm developing a small-business website to sell ~100 items, w/photo's of everything.

On the plus-side, $6.99 is a lot better "upgrade" cost than NetObjects $69.95 upgrade path.
On the down-side, if I buy NetObject Fusion 7.5 for $6.99, they'll then have my credit-card number.

Opinions welcome....

Use one of those 1-time use credit cards like American Express has. They'll never be able to charge you anything more than the $6.99.

Click the printer on any of the pages in this thread to view the thread in raw text. A new window will pop-up with all of the responses. Just save that page as normally would for any other web page.

EDIT: You have a helluva lot of movies!
