Experience with BSN sups (Update: NO-Xplode is a big N-O!)

So my roomie works in the motocross fashion industry and he did some work for someone, and now has a ton of BSN sups.

I was on CellMass about a year and a half ago, and while it was expensive (and annoying, given when you were supposed to eat) I do think it delivered some good results. Anyway, he's got all these packets: Some CellMass, NO-Xplode, Syntha-6, True Mass, and Volumize, as well as some protein powder (I tried chocolate mint...very good).

Anyway, normally I wouldn't use any of this shit, as the price/performance ratio probably isn't good enough to justify taking it. But, even if I can get, what, 5% gains over not using it, if it's free, it's free.

So I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these products and what that experience was. Thanks!

(In case you're wondering: I'm 6'4", about 207, my weight gains seem to come in jumps -- for example, I was about 195 before taking cellmass, and I gained around 10 pounds which I've n ever lost) but i've been hovering around 206-212 for about a year now. I do Starting strength 3 times a week and play a lot of beach vball)
 
I'd take the whey and creatine if he has it and leave it at that. The other products have "benefits" that are uncomfirmed and are potentially hurtful to overall/long-term health.
 
Take the no-xplode on days where your low on energy and need a boost. syntha-6 is freakin delicious, some of the best tasting protein powder I've ever had. Are all these in packets or tubs? If you only have a handful of cellmass packets then you won't really see any benefit from using them.

+1 for N.O. Xplode. Great stuff but do NOT take it 6 hours before bedtime or else it will keep you up. And do yourself a favor and avoid the "berry" type flavors, they taste like ass. N.O. Xplode also has Creatine in it as well!

+1 for this too. While I have great results from N.O. in general (much better pump in the gym), when I was on it a few years ago for more than 6 months my blood-pressure was way too high. If you take it, you must cycle it per the directions or else you'll be sorry. That is of course, unless you have the body of Ronnie Coleman or Dexter Jackson! :Q

I took a whole packet of NO-Xplode before my vball tourney.

Never again.

Combined with the general antsy-ness and anticipation of playing volleyball (or any other sport, I'd imagine) I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin.

Maybe half a packet, I guess, for something like lifting where there's no real anticipation, but never sports. Ugh.
 
no explode makes my pee pee not want to work. But holy shit it REALLY improves workouts. IMO YMMV BLAH BLAH.

Viagra does effect NO secretion in the body. It's a vasodilator and opens up the blood vessels. That's why you often get rosie cheeks and a boner when you take viagra.

I have no idea how taking an NO supplement would effect that though.

But yeah, OP, NO really raises blood pressure, which is often an inducer of anxiety and hyperactivity. It's not really healthy, even though it improves "pump." It's really not worth it if you ask me.
