Here's Netanyahu and Obama in earlier times. Which would you take more seriously?

Badass and dumbass.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why be insulting and paste in a picture of the now Dead Ossma BIN Laden, but I submit Ossama was a bigger bad ass than a wantabee Netanyuhu ever was.

Tell us again about what your points was.We can prop up anyone as a bad ass, if we just paste in enough guns. Rambo and the Swarznagger have more hollywood cred, but its no measure of what rational leadership is.

It's really not a matter of opinion. Are you claiming that Turkey is not a democracy? If so, why?

I honestly dont consider Turkey a part of the middle east, seeing that it is included in NATO and is on a bid to be part of the EU.

but to be fair, yes, Turkey is a democracy in the area.

but turkey is our ally, and in that country Shariah law isnt ruling, and suicide bombings, terrorist attacks on civilians, etc are not the normal way of life, like in Iran, Iraq, Afganistan, Egypt, jordan, etc.

When we talk about about two rat fink countries with past baggage, its hard to find two countries with so much past baggage they are totally in denial about anywhere else in the world when we compare Israel and Turkey.

On one hand we may be willing over time to forgive the Turkish genocide of the Armenian people, that now is past living memory, bur when the current Turkish oppression of their own Kurds is almost equally brutal, its hard to believe any Turkish Claims of present credibiliity.

But still Israel is a piece of crud because they equally oppress the Palestinian people.

Bottom line, don't ask anyone to choose either country with past and recents behavior that can only gag maggots.

In short any mid-east process can't just single out just one country, but we can start by demanding better behavior from the two worst offenders.

Turkey-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_of_Kurdish_people_in_Turkey

Turkey doesnt allow Kurdish political parties, they cant learn Kurdish in Schools,

Between 1983 and 1991, it was forbidden to publicize, publish and/or broadcast in any language other than Turkish, unless that language was the first official language of a country that Turkey has diplomatic relations with. Though this ban technically applied to any language, it had the largest effect on the Kurdish language, which is not the first official language of any country, despite being widely spoken in the Kurdistan region.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_of_Kurdish_people_in_Turkey#cite_note-Article_2932-10

Israel- Arabs have political parties in Israel with representation in the government.

Arabic, the language common in the region, is taught to every israeli citizen.

it is not persecuted and is an official language of the country.

seeing that, like I said, it is part of NATO and is on a bid to be part of the EUROPEAN UNION, i stand by my reasoning.

Why would Turkey joining the European Union matter as to whether or not it is part of the Middle East? The Middle East is made up of parts of 3 continents, Europe, Asia, and Africa. There are many different definitions of exactly what comprises the middle east, but every single one of them includes Turkey.

I can provide you with large numbers of links showing that Turkey is part of the Middle East. Can you provide a single one that says it isn't? I mean I don't really see why this matters that much, but seriously man, Turkey is in the Middle East, period.

Ask the Kurds in Turkey.

Ask the Kurds in *Iraq*.

I understand it is part of the middle east, but as a largely secular country, it does not compare to any of the arabic countries of the region, which are largely religious and ran by shariah law.

socially, yes, it is part of the ME, but economically and ideologically, it isnt
