As the three faces of Netanyuhu are on display.

Ahead of the Netanyuhu visit to the white house, Obama, IMHO, made the correct call and said any settlement had to be on the basis of 1967 borders with land swaps.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diploma...u-and-obama-are-on-different-planets-1.363298

Otherwise Obama gave Israel almost everything possibe, including no calls for a settlement freeze.

So the three faces of Netanyuhu comes out and are on full display.

1. First he rudely lectures Obama but gets nowhere.

2. Then Obama speaks to AIPAC, explains his position politely and explains again there is nothing new in the 1967 borders plus land swaps. Meanwhile Netanyuhu back pedals, papers over his diffrences with Obama as minor, and pledges to work with Obama.

3. Then Netanyuhu, through his own party, does everything to roll up all the religious support he can get inside Israel.

4.Then proceeds to fail to understand what he is trying to do as he goes to Obama crying about the entire UN trying to throw Israel under the bus. So Obama says I will back Israel but first you have to accept the 1967 border framework Olmert had almost finished negotiating. And then Netanyuhu says, no we want more more and more and want to start out with a clean sheet of paper. At some point, if Netanyuhu wants to infinitly delay a settlement, Obama will simply away and let then UN throw Netanyuhu under the bus.

Because NetaNYUHU IS FINALLY CORNERED and no longer infintely delay settling.

Call me crazy but I don't think we should base our opinions of people's foreign policy expertise on what they looked like in the 70's.

Funny, how they don't realize what idiots they make of themselves by that being the best 'argument' they can come up with. In the meantime, I'll take this guy over the grunt:

Yay, another thread were Jew hating trolls can have circle jerk session.

And that's the problem with this whole debate. If America doesn't give Israel everything they want, it's must be because we hate Jews. It can't be because their actions often look reasonable only when compared to Islamic terrorist groups, or that our alliance and friendship with them seem decidedly one way a lot of the time. Nope, must be that Jew-hating thing...

clearly, all of the soviet technology Israel gave over the years, the countless military improvments, including dozens of improvements to the f-16 alone, the hundreds of companies coming out of israel, and the companies going INTO israel (including intel), all mean absolutely nothing.

And lets not forget, israel being the only democracy in the middle east.

I have a much better argument against Obama. From his campaign days.

For one thing, under an Obama presidency, Americans will be able to leave behind the era of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and "wiretaps without warrants," he said. (He was referring to the lingering legal fallout over reports that the National Security Agency scooped up Americans' phone and Internet activities without court orders, ostensibly to monitor terrorist plots, in the years after the September 11 attacks.)
It's hardly a new stance for Obama, who has made similar statements in previous campaign speeches, but mention of the issue in a stump speech, alongside more frequently discussed topics like Iraq and education, may give some clue to his priorities.
In our own Technology Voters' Guide, when asked whether he supports shielding telecommunications and Internet companies from lawsuits accusing them of illegal spying, Obama gave us a one-word response: "No."

Oh dear, the words of a politician and conman.

Those things don't mean "absolutely nothing", but do you really think Israel has done enough to warrant complete, unquestioning support from the United States whenever they ask for it, no matter what other considerations there may be? And for that matter, are you arguing that we've done nothing at all for Israel in exchange up until now?

I really don't see why this has to be a black and white issue. Israel is our friend, and a better friend than most of their neighbors. That doesn't mean we have to pretend they are perfect or that we need to do absolutely everything they say.

Israel isn't the only democracy in the middle east.

I can agree with that.....
But what the other side wants is for us to abandon Israel our only ally in the middle east because they are NOT perfect....
Sure they have made mistakes but friends stick with friends and if you have followed what Obama has been saying ever since he made that speech then you understand that what he said concerning the 1967 borders was said to appease the pro-palestinian movement in the US.....

Will the US veto anything giving the Palestinians statehood??
Your damn right that will happen!! Unless some guarantees are made concerning recognition of Israel as well as IMO recognition of the people who call themselves Palestinian!!

It's weird how the loons on this board like to fantasize about Obama being on their side. Here we have LL wishing that Obama would slap him high-five and diss Netanyahu when Obama is having personal meetings with him and admitting that he is just continuing the same US foreign policy. A lot like COW who wants to believe that Obama hates Europeans and secretly wants to bomb them. LOL.
