Ok, I got home from school and I rush to my room and I find my cable modem installed. So I go look at it and he installed it through USB. I threw out the USB cable and plugged in my Ethernet wire. Then I looked around the papers for the installation and they did not have my ip or user/pass for my e-mail. I had to call tech support and be on hold for 20 minutes and 10 more minutes because there "network" was slow. So I finally got my ip and got my cable working. I am glad I finally got broadband :D but I am also pissed off because the @home techy sucks! Im currently in the customer support chat room waiting in line at #40 to get my user/pass. Anyone else have bad expereinces with cable techys?

Same problem here with Cox@home. They dropped off the modem and plugged in my network cable.

Dynamic IP hosting and no paperwork, on who I am or anything. Still waiting for feedback from the CS.

Apperently techy did not know what do do with a system that had already been configured with a fixed IP address (Comcast@home)

Have you tried setting your machine for dhcp? Most cable modem systems dont use a username and password, instead they just validate you by the MAC address of your modem.

You're in Las Vegas, we're not @Home :) Call 383-4000, look for tech support and ask for a username for email. We don't assign an email address unless you request it.

We do offer static IPs, but only on the "commercial" service. www.lvcm.com for details on that :)

Rendus, not speaking for his employer, despite the fact he's at work right now.

wrong. @Home works by assigning your IP and routing information based on your computer name. That's it, plain and simple.
