<< Ulf: This has been debated ad nauseum. Amen Azraele, I couldn't have said it better myself. ;)

Gawd.

Are the only girls that support guns the ones that make a dog cower at the sight of her face, that have the ability to kill a person by breathing on them or sitting on them, and that have NO idea what the words "bath" and "clean cloths" and "non-stringy hair" mean?!

<< You ain't got a gun I couldn't assemble. >>

Can you disassemble, clean and assemble an AK4 in less than one minute? I doubt you could assemble it at all...

The AK5 is simpler in design, but you have to be used to it, you have to know which parts to lube as one of the not so obvious parts is the safety....

So, could you disassemble, clean and assemble and AK4 or AK5 in less than one minute... In complete darkness and -25 C? i have done that... Better not drop any of the vital parts, because any ice buildup would make the bullet explode inside of the gun...

<< Guns are meant to kill, not save lives. Guns don't fix the problem, not when they are as easily available to the criminals as the law abiding citizen. For every single one of ulfwald's single-sided repetative stories there are hundreds of gun murders in the US alone. Now if some gun nuts would address the issue of gun murders out there, and how its possible to see guns as helpful to society when you look at all the deaths, I might be convinced. Posts such as this further solidify my position, if you can't address every side of the issue you are just beating yourself into a hole. >>

Why do cops carry guns? Tell me, please. Do they carry them just so they can KILL SOMEONE? Or do they carry them to protect themsevles and to take out criminals?

AND, for every one of your "kids get to guns and kill selves and friends" there is a "GUn owner defends self from would-be killer" to match it.

The word for that is not "gun owner", but rather "redneck". ;)

Why can't you just accept that there is nothing you can say that will sway anyone?

Oh please, when you have gone through the amount of training that they have and been allowed to carry a gun to protect the general public, then you should be allowed to, then you would be a cop...

So if owning a gun required someone to go through quite a bit of training, then it would be completely fine for guns to be available?

And for every one of your gun owner saves life, there's about 100 criminal kills innocent person with gun. If guns weren't in the hands of criminals who actually intend on using them, then how many people would die because of them? If you are a law abiding citizen, and guns are still available to you, why is it so important to you that gun sales aren't regulated? Why should any one person need more than 1 gun if its to defend their home (unless he/she is a hunter). Or should everyone own assualt weapons, because its so much safer to have an uzi under your pillow so you can kill the 20 gun toting gangsters in your house, because that's so likely to happen. :disgust:

Not everyone should own a gun.

Ulfwad, don't you get tired of making these posts? What if that criminal who was shot had been carrying a gun, hmm? Then maybe the bartender would be dead. Maybe he wanted a gun, but he couldn't get one because of a gun control law.

In my experiences, it is always the beginners, the people who will have a gun in their hands and think "cool" who will get shot...

You need extensive training to carry a gun, i would suggest some sort of military training, with the dicipline involved you will not think "cool", you will think "food" and "sleep" instead...

After a few weeks of intense military training, you would have to go through the testings of the attacker force and the defense...

THAT would make sense to me.

Yes, and no age verification or criminal record check either... man, you must be a very smart person...

NO training, no gun control at all, and no age limits!!!

I think that you are pretty stupid...

Oh, and to anyone who wants to cry about guns being a constitutional right:
The 2nd amendment is NOT included in the 14th amendment, therefore, the states may make any gun control law they damnwell please. If it was that important, aka "basic and essential", it would be included in the 14th amendment and thus forced upon the state governments as well.

I didn't say I could do it in a minute and I'm not even sure what 'AK4' or 'AK5' is. However, I've extensive experience with the AK47 and AK74 series and yes, I could dissamble and clean them in under a minute in the dark with practice.

<< Oh please, when you have gone through the amount of training that they have and been allowed to carry a gun to protect the general public, then you should be allowed to, then you would be a cop... >>

There is ZERO evidence that traing of individuals BEFORE licenseing does anything. One does not carry a concealed gun to protect the general public, but that IS the result as criminals have no idea who is armed. Most Cop's training deals as much with the application of law as firearms training.

BTW, I have trained Cops in the proper use of firearms, includeing full auto weapons and if there was any money doing it, I'd still be!

BTW, according to the Supreme Court cops have no obligation to protect anyone from anything....they are primarily there to clean up the mess.

During extensive training people tend to crack, those people should not be allowed to carry guns, the people who wanted a gun to be cool would also disappear quite quickly from that group.. The ones who really wanted to learn how to defend themselves would probably stay, they would learn more than gun techniques, they could be trained in combat as a part of their training and how to use the gun as a FINAL resort...

That is what i think...

Not completley fine, but it's a good start.

Maybe you can solve some of these issues I have about guns. Why aren't people prosecuted when a child gets their gun and kills someone? What is the problem with a waiting period, why do people flip out over this?

The AK4 was the preferred weapon of the armed special forces during the late 80's, the gun was later on exchanged for the AK5 which uses an unstable bullet which will spin on impact causing serious internal damage...

The AK4 was a 7.62mm rifle, the AK5 is a 5,65mm rifle, both fully automatic and carrying 24 rounds in every clip...

What do you think about the AK74?

I am sure you could, but when the temp is below 22C you better get ready for some serious pain, you will not be able to feel what you touch, if you drop one part, then the mission is gone, you are gone from the training... it is harder than it sounds... trust me...

Wait you don't understand! The guns don't do anything. If you leave them alone, they will sit there for thousands of years, harmlessly, eroding away, doing nothing. It's the person who is firing the gun that does the bad! Don't bash our evil guns, it isn't their fault ;)!

<< Don_Vitto. Actually, I hope that people will realize a few things:

1 Guns are not the problem, people are.
2 Stories about children being shot are often sensationalized by the media, but when something like this happens, it is given a few lines on the back pages of a newspaper, or it is the last story on the 6 o'clock news. I have done nothing more than bring a factual news article to the forums.

And by the way,

<< That or he is just a rabidly dogmatic creep. >>

HOLD IT, SETRAL! I think HANDS should be outlawed too! People can strangle or punch people with their hands, and since hands can kill people, we should cut everyone's hands off! DIE HANDS!
