How does this card perform vs my 7900GTX @ 1920X1200 res?
Are there any benchies around that show it's a worthy upgrade?
Nice price too.

Nice find on the G80. Prices are getting to be pretty good on the lower end G80s. While the card is a better buy right now than the X1950XTX it isn't quite taking it down as you suggest. In the games that really tax the cards the ATI card seems to be holding it's own.

Seems to be a lot faster. Even takes down a more expensive X1950XTX

Thanks for the linky.
It destroys the ATI and most of the 7900GTX on benchies but it's such a power hog though quiet.

the 8800GTS 320mb seems a little too weak in FEAR compared to the 7900GTX ... so hope you arent big into FEAR ;)

Actually no, it wouldn't be a good idea to wait.

What would be a good idea though is to not turn in the rebate.

Just so you guys all know. EVGA has the Step-Up program and in the U.S it's an INCREDIBLY solid program. Rebates can be a wrench in the gears though as they not only take away from the trade-in value but they also risk you losing 15% trade in value for the UPC being cut out and the box being damaged.

I think if you're going to buy a 8800GTS, EVGA is the brand to go with. If the 8900GT comes around the corner at $300, it's a straight forward trade in.

damn, the price went up to $300 ($280 After Rebate) + Shipping, so I purchased the same card w/ a free gift (512mb sd card) @ ZZF for $270 AR shipped, and now Newegg just lowered the price so it's $266 AR. Seems Newegg fluctuates more than the stock market.

Very hot deal, but I think that my 7900GT can hold me over until some games can really tax it.

How much is the 7900gtx worth today? Low $200?

~$250ish depending on brand and what it comes with (accessories). In some games (F.E.A.R) the 7900gtx will still hold it's own against the 8800gts since it does have the extra 192MB of memory.
