Not sure where else to post this…but this seemed appropriate. Chris Licht is out at CNN.

Yeah, an earlier article at CNN indicated there was no redemption for him. His employees had lost all faith and trust in him.

" There are a wide range of emotions coursing through the halls of CNN. Some staffers are frustrated. Others are angry. Many are sad about the awful state of affairs that has taken hold of an organization they love.

There is one near-universal sentiment, however, that has been communicated to me: Licht has lost the room."

It's amazing what Trump can destroy.

New CEO guy was an ass, made major changes and ignored advice to do so differently
It’s a bit more nuanced than that. If you read the excellent Atlantic article that precipitated his departure, Licht himself wasn’t trying to be an ass, and he had noble intentions. But he was also someone very insecure about replacing Jeff Zucker (someone almost universally loved at CNN despite his faults) and rather than forge relationships with staff or talent, he isolated himself. He also gave his direct reports and staff at large these broad mission statements about what CNN “should be” but was often short on tactics and strategies for getting it done. His two most hands-on projects (the Lemon/Harlow/Collins morning show and Trump town hall) were failures that no leader could have survived.

While much of the blame does lie with Licht, the Atlantic also made it clear that he was also being micromanaged to some extent by Zaslav and was eager to please the boss who had hand-picked him—to the point that all his decisions were being made for an audience of one.
