Everyone ready for tourist season?

This is my first January (tourist season) at a new gym after working out at an AFB for a few years. I remember how crowded the gyms got in college after the new year. I'm dreading to see all the new years resolutioners packing into the gym for the next few weeks. Guess we'll find out how bad it is at 6AM tomorrow, hopefully they'll stick to the cardio.

*sigh*

i can't wait to go back to Wake and just use that gym. the one i go to back home is sure to be crowded. i go at a good time though, when less people are there, so i guess i'll see tomorrow/this week when i go.

I can't wait for the influx of housewives, especially after this week and all the schools go back. But hey if they actually stick to it and it works for them, more power to them.

Don't worry, all the new years resolutions to "lose weight" will be gone by week 2 heh. A commitment to get in shape is really a lifetime commitment.

I have planned on going to this local boxing gym at the beginning of December.

With the holiday approaching I didnt want to spend the money on myself so I chose not to join until after xmas.

After reading about how much people hate resolutioners, I dont want to categorize myself with that group and be hated.

I guess I will wait a couple weeks before I join.

Haha, didn't mean to dissuade anybody from joining a gym. There are the few random people that happen to find themselves joining a new gym around the new year due to school, moving, etc.

It'll be too cold in a few weeks. Better wait until March. But then it'll be too rainy. Hmm. If you wait until June, it'll be too nice outside to be spending time inside at the gym. A boxing gym probably won't have air conditioning, so August and September will be too hot to be inside the gym. The leaves will be changing color in October and falling down in November, and you REALLY hate those damned leaves, so you can't join during those months. Then of course you can't spend money on yourself during December.

Haha... never heard of it called 'tourist season', but yeah, I'm def. not looking forward to the next 2 weeks of gym crowds. I think ill go later than usual for the next month.
It's always bad post Thanksgiving, post New Years, and pre Spring Break. Almost as if 1 week of gym will make up for the other time u sat on ur ass and did nothing.

Considering I go to a gym on the local Coast Guard base, I am lucky I don't have to put up with the "tourist season" that is currently underway. 😛

I usually go in the afternoon, so the increase in fatties doesn't seem to affect me too much. And like others have said, they'll mostly be gone in 2 weeks anyway.

The resolutionists mostly stick to cardio machines at primetime, and that's fine with me. If I go in tonight and the free weights are chock full of noobs I'm going to be a little peeved though.

At the end of the day it's not THAT big of a deal since they'll all be gone soon anyway.
