There is one member here that uses it within every post and members slam him for it.

If the OP can justify that something else was meant, the lock will be reconsidered

I have not seen it used simply by one member.

I was only referring to their statement of "Everyone knows this" is simply not true, as in many cases I don't know this.

People use the "Everyone Knows This" and "It Cannot Be Denied" to make fun of one particular member who started using it. Everyone knows this.

You just proved the validity of my thread. I don't know any of this information or the fact a single user is apparently the only one using this.

I didn't but then I usually skim over posts made by that troll.

Is my definition of a call-out wrong? Do you (as a mod) think my thread was rightfully closed?

I've used it a few times, but I have no idea who started it nor was I doing it as a Call Out. Just one of those overused phrases.

Everyone knows this.

Would it be a call-out for someone to say who the offending thread was suppose to be a call-out of?

Not everybody knows this.

Edit: It obviously is a lot harder now that everyone uses the phrase... everyone knows this...

Exaclty I am point out that not everyone knows "this" when any member uses that phrase!

Yet its still a callout even though it is not targetted at any member, just the statement.

You were not penalized in any way; just the thread was locked

I'm gonna have to go pick out my own if thats the case :p

Edit: Doens't a member here (JulesMaximus I think?) use /facepalm in his sig, thereby it being in every post? So if we make a post about /facepalm its automatically a call-out thread too, right?
