Everyone hates geese. Why do they stop for them?

I hate geese. My kids wanna go play with them and the geese have chased them. I have no tolerance for them. I have hit three geese recently. And haven't felt bad. I don't brake for them. Why do so many people...just to save their car?

Well yeah... they're fucking huge and heavy. I won't slam on my brakes if there's a car behind me though, that's a whole different kind of unsafe.

I hate geese too. That's really the only reason I went goose hunting is so I could feel like I was helping the problem.

Are you serious? You should be glad that your kids able to grow up with geese flying around, by the time your grand kids grow up there may not be any left.

I grew up in that world and it sucked. I love all the wildlife I see now that had been hunted out of existence in all but the most rural areas when I was growing up.

because I hate paying for car repairs even more

also pretty sure in NY its illegal to hit them and blah blah blah

:hmm:
A lot of the reasons presented here are actually similar to why you also shouldn't hit asshole humans with your car:

- Kind of makes you look like an asshole.
- Humans are legally protected despite their excessive population.
- You can damage your car.

As opposed to humans? I'd trade in 3/4 of the world's population for geese 1:1
Bam, a mini-series for Sy-Fy: For "reasons," a random 75% portion of the human population turns into geese. The series follows the aftermath.

It may be because people who just plow into animals are actually assholes.

What's the difference between a lawyer lying in the road after being run over and a snake lying in the road after being run over?

There are skid marks in front of the snake where the driver tried to stop.

You can't run over animals, even animals that have it coming. And geese do have it coming. There should be a year round bounty on them, turn in 20 goose carcasses, get a $20 Wal-Mart gift card.

Geese are a real problem around airports, and some airports have river or lake frontage to make the problem more acute.
I flew banners out of Renton, and the airport staff used explosives, trained dogs, etc to run the geese off. It dd not work well. There was goose poop all over where we set up signs.
One day I was coming in to get a banner and something spooked the geese at the shoreline. One flew up at me as I was descending with the 4 pound "treble hook" we used to grab the signs dangling below and behind me.
I powered up and pulled up hard to avoid the collision. According to witnesses on the ground, the grapple hook made a direct hit, and the goose went into the lake like a lawn dart. We all secretly cheered 😀

We have a gaggle of geese here...fuckers shit everywhere...and what they leave behind id bigger than what my little rat dogs leave...yet I'm expected to clean up after my dogs...but no one cleans up after the fucking geese!

They shit everywhere. Sidewalks. Stairs. Trails. The nice sunny hillside by the pond that you want to sit on and fish. All. covered. in. shit.

And it should be covered in goose shit. They are waterfowl. They have more right to shit there than you have to sit there, stand there, or fish there.

I'm not a fan of geese either, but I wonder how many people advocating killing them feel the same way about outdoor cats shitting everywhere. :hmm:
