EVERYBODY list your idle temps and heatsink

Athlon 1700@1900 (1.6GHz current speed), 1.85v. Right now, it's hovering around 39-40C, 4% CPU load.
Heatsink is an Alpha 8045 with a variable speed fan - the speed increases with temperature.

Epox 8RDA, XP 2000+ (not overclocked)
Retail HSF with 3 case fans and a Card Cooler XT

Idle temps:
CPU: 35-36deg C
System: 27deg C

36C cpu
27C system

Taisol GCK760xxx w/ Shin Etsu
[edit: Gigabyte GA-7VTXH (KT266A). /]

er and 4 low rpm case fans, a cold draft... CPU could go up close to 10C if i piut heating up higher and played a game. Cant exactly compare temps accross different rigs, even the mobo's detect temps differently (and then different software can calculate differently; Speedfan is typically showing 1C less than MBM5 on mine for whatever reason).

REMINDER: idle temps have everything to do with the motherboard. Example: 1800+ with retail heatsink reads 42C on an Asus A7N266-VM, but the same CPU/heatsink reads about 70C on an Abit NV-7M. The actual CPU temps are the same, but the motherboards give radically different estimates of it.

Your title should be "EVERYBODY list your idle temps and motherboard" 😀

1. alpha. epox 8kha+/2400xp@2.1 idle 36 load 40, system 27.
2. swifty 462u. fic an11/1600xp/unlocked @11.5x133 40idle, 45 load

i'm idle at 42c and load at 47c
system temp:38c
room temp:30c:Q
volcano 7+ low fan setting

never idle...always running Folding@Home 😉

XP1800+ @ 1639Mhz
MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU

Volcano 7 with cut off thermal sensor so it runs at full all the time 😉
CPU: 43C
Mobo: 38C

other computer is (also always running Folding)

XP1600+ @ 1500Mhz
MSI 6378 thing

XP1800+ retail heatsink on it (I kept it from my other computer)
CPU: 47C
Mobo: 31C

I don't think this will be very conclusive by listing the cpu, idle temp and hs/fan alone. My temps shot up quite a bit when I changed into a case with less airflow.

it wasnt meant to be some scientific study. i just wanted to see what other people were at compared to me

Hi to all,

XP2000+, Asus A7V266-E, SLK800. Controlled 80x80x38mm Vantec Tornado HS fan (4,500), Lian Li case (five fans - two inlet, two rear exhasut, one blowhole) Temp readings via MBM5... I find that room temps make a BIG difference!

Idle: CPU - 91degF (33degC)
MB - 68degF (20degC)
Room temp 61degF (16degC)
After two hours of gaming: CPU - 98degF (37degC)
MB - 69degF (20degC)
Room temp - 61degF (16degC)
Hope this helps, 🙂

idle : system 28C ... CPU 28.5C ... @ 1.68~1.70v (thermal resistor pressured on bottom of chip)

Room temp : 25.5C

XP2600+ (11 x 191.4 = 2105)
Cosair PC3200c2 (xms) @ 2.65v
KX7-333
Volcano 7+ (no speed switch installed)

49-50 deg C on a Palomino 1700+
GA-7VTXE motherboard
TI-V77 heatsink with generic silent 80mm fan epoxied on =p

It looks like some of you guys need to see if theres a Windows "cooling" PCRSET value for the registry.

(specific to your MB)

It lowered my operating temp 10C.

Asus 7N8X Deluxe....I dun trust PCProbe too much though, it and BIOS disagree by 7 degrees C.
Idle: 39 in PCProbe, ThermalTake Smart and Silent Volcano 9, manual + auto-adjusted(by mobo) RPM

XP2000 with SLK800
48C idle
52C load after 2 hours
26C Case

Dual 1.2Gig Athlon MP's with GC-68s
47C each idle
51C each full load 2 hours
28C case

CPU as listed in profile, Thermalright SK-7 heatsink with a cheap 4500 RPM 70mm fan.

CPU - 42 idle, 50 under 100% load
Case - 27 idle, 28 with CPU at 100% load and running 3DMark

cpu 38c idle
cpu 44c load
mobo 25c
(temps from mbm 5)

using alpha pal8045 & ystech adjustable fan
soyo dragon platinum kt333
xp 2000+ (palomino) running at 2200+ 1.8ghz 1.825V

Athlon Tbird 1GHz @ 1387MHz 1.85v
Thermalright AX-7 w/YS Tech 80mm 48.7CFM max

Current temps are 27C motherboard, 38C CPU.
That's with Seti running, I don't ever have my computers idle!
