Ever wonder what a nuke would do to your city?

Kaboom!

Works best in Chrome, I think.

But damn, even the 10.5 Mt Ivy Mike pretty much wipes out the entire of Phoenix, if detonated at Sky Harbor Airport.

Scale maxes out at an asteroid impact, Chicxulub. Which pretty much vaporizes North America.

If they were to hit dead-square the tallest building in my city, I would be outside all blast radii up to Joe-4, and right at the edge with the Mk28. Anything more... 🙁

Guys, remember there's three tabs on that map, thermal, pressure, and fallout. You may survive the thermal or pressure, but the fallout's going to kill you very painfully if you're on the wrong side of the wind.

I'm on the right side of the wind. ()🙂

Damn. A suitcase bomb levels a 5 fucking block radius at minimum? Why are there not a thousand of these bombs let off everyday? If it fits in a suitcase... BAM, there goes 5 blocks in all directions

Our intelligence agencies at work? I always wonder this. I'm curious how many terrorists are actually successful at acquiring nuclear materials and building this type of device. It's scary to think this information might just be kept confidential to prevent us from freaking out.

You do realize that it's actually quite difficult to get enough high quality fissionable material to build one of these things, right? The basics are easy enough for most people to understand quickly, but everything needed to produce a workable bomb is much harder than you apparently understand.

Typical ATOT arrogance. You don't actually need high quality fissable material. Pack it with some radioactive crud and a few pounds of C4. Dirty bomb. Terror and panic achieved.

Didn't realize it was a nuke in a briefcase. I thought maybe they were just starting at some hefty bombs and not nuke.

The material for nukes is obviously a bit hard to get a hold of.

I would survive most of the blasts except the last two. I would move to a different country if I knew an asteroid was going to hit San Diego. 😀

if the smallest of those hit Reno I'd be toast.

same with Dansville

Ivy mike takes out everything from hornell to mt morris

an asteroid takes out nearly the entire east coat. all of Ny and most of PA become a hole in thr ground with everything from Maine to the SC effected

For San Antonio, up to about 500 kilotons I'm barely safe from thermal, pressure, & fallout if detonated in the middle of the city. After that I'm toast. If I'm working on Ft. Sam I'm pretty much dead no matter what.

Surprisingly for living in the DC area the only one that would really affect me would be the huge "Tsar" one.
