I left my watch (a birthday present from my parents) on my roof while playing basketball. I actually found it later on a busy street after it was run over by countless cars. Needless to say, it didn't work anymore.

Also, my wife left her purse on her roof. Thankfully, her Saturn ION's spoiler caught it as it slid down and a woman behind us saw it and told us at the next stoplight. That would have been a killer.

I haven't left anything on the roof, but I'm always leaving things on the rear bumper on my wife's Tahoe. The heavier items usually make it round trip.

I can't say the same for my idiot dad though. He left me on the roof in my car seat when I was an infant. Fortunately, he only made it a few feet before my mom realized his stupidity.

I left a pair of $200 Oakleys on my roof once. I haven't bought sunglasses that cost more than $5 in 4 years to punish myself for being so stupid. I personally wouldn't have ever bought sunglasses that cost that much, but they were polarized and were by far the most comfortable glasses I've ever owned. :( R.I.P.

I haven't. I've never once put anything on my car roof. If I need my hands to get in, I just set what I'm carrying on the ground next to the car. Why risk scratching up/denting your car by placing items on it? This has always confused me.

Topic Title: $#*(! I LOST MY CARRY GUN!
Topic Summary:
Created On: 02/28/2005 02:44 AM

damn damn damn damn damn damn!

I was at the walmart supercenter to buy groceries and my wife called me on the cell phone. Just as I finished loading all the groceries in the backseat I put my Glock 40 on the roof of my car so I could adjust my holster because the muzzle was digging into my hip. Well she called and said the water heater burst and she didnt know what to do and I needed to get home fast!

So I jumped in the car, drove off and by the time I was home and called the plumber I totally realized that my gun is probably still in the walmart parking lot! So I raced over there and scoured the parking lot for an hour and didnt find anything

lol :) My mom used to do something similar when my brother and I were little. She'd get in the car and start it up, then start to drive off while one of us was still trying to get in :p

I never have left anything on my roof (yet) but I have seen someone driving an SUV with a "big gulp" sitting on the bumper :)

Isn't there a "Jackass" skit where they put a baby seat on the roof of their car and drive around parking lots with it?

a metal coffee mug. Had prepared some hot green tea for a long trip to somwehre. Can't remember what happened to it..but i know we realized right before we turned out of our street onto the main road. I think it fell off and there was tea all over the ground. I'm not sure if the cup was damaged in any way tho. yikes..this was only a few years ago and I can't remember anything about it!

I left my laptop on the roof of my car 3 weeks ago. Two weeks ago I left my second one on there and today I left some artwork up there was well. All from the roof without making a sound.

friend left a case of beer once, also thought it was smart to burn some rubber while they where on the roof...needless to say only a few survived (shitty Molson Canadian so nothing of value was lost at the time)

I don’t recall ever doing that, but I wouldn’t notice if I did.

My buddy got drunk a few weeks ago and his gf had to drive the truck home. Oops she hit the tailgate open button and there went all his tools.

I never did myself, but my dad put his cellphone on the roof of his car at Tim Horton's and then drove back home with coffee. He realized it as he was driving and had a "oh shit!" moment but not much he was able to do while driving so he drove home. It was still there! The rubber casing gave it enough grip to stay on.
