We had a car that we thought was abandoned outside my work so I called our local police to come tag it. We eventually figured out who's it was and got that taken care of. The cop was really cool and we just kind of chatted for a while. He was telling me about some random stuff that he had been called to and stuff like that.

I know a lot of people here dislike the police, so I just thought I would post and remind everyone that cops are actually humans too. Though sometimes they do have to be asshole.

I don't mind them, as long as they don't give me another 3 month ban from a plazaa because some of my garbage fell out of the overfilled garbage.

Cops need to realize that we pay their fvcking salary. I've had no GOOD run-ins with police, and tons of bad ones. I DO NOT have a criminal record, and I actually work for the government. I have been mis-treated way too many times to put up with their sh!t.

Usually you only hear about the bad cops and not the good ones, which is too bad. Unfortunately, I've had a few encounters with ones that were assholes.

Cops like to fvck the dog on the job just like anyone else :)

I mean, you could easily pull aside the hot little 18 year old blonde cooking your fries at McD's for a 1/2 hr chat while she's on shift. No matter how much grease you have on your pimply infected face, she'll still hang off your every word to avoid going back to the oil pit.

(that wasn't directed at anyone specifically, but rather just ATOT in general) :)

Yes.. when I lived in Nashville I came to NYC on vacation with my very southern b/f (at the time) and he is a huge gun freak...

while in manhattan outside grand central station he started asking this cop about his weapon. At first the cop was like WTF? but it was soon apparant that he knew nothing about what he was carrying so was acting all dickish...

his partner was a really cool guy and he and the ex b/f started up a really good convo about firearms and such.

I know a lot of cops that i converse with often, but that is not the same thing.

STUPID traffic laws have trained people to distrust law enforcement

its really sad, when we see an officer of the peace we SHOULD feel safe and protected, but instead we instinctively feel fear

it is a shame

I'll send you a quarter for a refund, and perhaps you can shove that up yer ass.

Wait a minute...that was uncalled for, as the above poster that I quoted probably isn't even old enough to know what taxes are.

I'm assuming he's your ex because he's a gun freak? o_O

I don't expect a reply to this, that would be prying from my part and not very appropriate.

You get dragged out of your car and thrown on the pavement, handcuffed in front of your parents house only to hear the description of the suspect come across the police radio. The suspect is nowhere near the same race as you, and the cops pulled you over cause you had a black car and they were looking for a green one. All this being done at 5:30 in the afternoon. Now take your quarter back, and shove it up YOUR ass.

I like all cops...

The only ones I do not like are the ones that I got to know that have a big ego, or treat people unfairly...otherwise they are cool in my book...i know some.

So how about I distrust all black people because I got held up at gunpoint (with the gun to my temple) a few months ago?

Because of a few bad apples, or a few mistakes, you shouldn't hate all the people of a particular group.

It made the paper you jackass. Go back to 1998 and read the Indianapolis Star....there is an article in there about the disciplined police officer who did this to me.

Hahaha... no not prying. I was huge into guns too.. owned at least five really nice handguns and went shooting at least twice a week. I was fully licensed and loved it... nothing like the Mac10-Mac11, MP5, M16 and more...stuff that he has... that stuff was too big for me. Guns we agreed on!

wer broke up cause he had two young sons that ... well, let's just say i felt they needed help dealing with their moms death that i could not provide. Also i was a NY girl and he was a southern baptist.

He was my greatest love and my biggest hurt. but we could not work it out. end of story.

now.. lets hijack this thread back where it belongs.

I know most from our local department, and talk to plenty from other departments. If you actually treat them like people, they do the same for you.

I moved to florida a year and a half ago. Grew up in Indiana. 100% white and the police officer was looking for an African American suspect.

I once did at one of the numerous illegal speedtraps police set-up around here. I was on my bike and taking a break and was congratulating him on finding a shady spot in the middle of nowhere (where I bike mostly scrubland so it was a nice place to take a break)
