If someone can crack your WPA2, then hiding your SSID and filtering MAC addresses isn't going to do much. Everyone knows this.
Disabling the broadcast of the SSID is in no way shape or form a security feature. You do not need to know the name of an AP to associate with it.
Why is this turning into a discussion about hidden SSIDs not really being a security feature?
As to the OP, the Linksys PCI wifi G card in my parents' PC, my Touch Pro. 2 and my brother's iPhone don't like it when I hide my router's SSID.
True. I'm just curious why it made several devises drop connections repeatedly when it was turned off. For actual security I'm using WPA2 and MAC filtering for wireless connections.
