It happens, if you go in and talk to them, they will just take your info down and let you come back later.

Just don't drive off, then you've commited a crime. Here in Texas, the Police can now seize your car if you fuel up and drive off without paying.

In Georgia, they can take your driver's license for six months if you're convicted of two or more drive-offs.

only in the south....here its pay then pump, i have never ever heard of a place that lets you pump then pay

If you use CC it's pay first, using cash it is either first or after depending on the gas station. How do you pay first with cash, do you give like $10 or $20 and go back for the change?

exactly, you pre-pay with a 20 and then whatever is left over you get as change...we are an advanced culture here in California

If going in and paying, pumping your petrol and going back in to get your change is the sign of an advanced culture.....leave me out. Sounds more like an untrusting culture.

Where I live you pump your petrol, then go in and pay for it. ( Or pay at the pump )

but i am a bit paranoid, i normally check my wallet right before pumping
Lol, FoBoT. I still do this, even after getting a CC.

Cheers.....

As long as my credit card works, I'm good. If I have to pay with cash, I'd be screwed.
