I doubt it's blood... blood would have to be extremely fresh for it to be highly visable as red on asphalt..

Don't worry, you always look like a dumbass so it's no big surprise. ;)

I have seen that a few times, especially after a deer meets a semi at high speeds. There tends to be a lot of blood splatter and not much is left so it looks like its just a random red mark on the road.

it was that time of the month and she was leaking through a small hole in the car.

Hmm... I dunno about that. I'm certain that I have seen blood on the highway more than a few times.

My GF and I like to road-trip, and one of our road-trip games is to check out all the skid marks and guard rail runs on the freeways. Some of them are just plain spooky, like when separate skid marks meet and stop, or when a skid mark ends at a guardrail or goes right off the road and into the ditch...

Seen some nasty accidents too. Like last fall on a cold rainy night, we saw a mid-90s 4Runner that was cut in half with one end on one side of the freeway and the front end (from the back of the front seats forward) in the grassy median. I don't think anyone lived. This was on I-5 south near Castle Rock, WA.

Worst I've ever seen was a small pickup that had been run clean over by a logging truck. The pickup was crushed flat like a pop can, less than 2 feet tall. I drove by just as the state troopers were arriving on the scene. This was on OR 140 near Lake of the Woods in Feb '96 -- lots of snow on the highway at the time. Read about it in the Medford Mail-Tribune a couple of days later... the driver died instantly :(

Be careful out there, people...
