<< Yeah... it happened before (forgot the dream though).

Once, I was shot in the chest in my dreams... I even felt the pain. Then I woke up. :)
>>

Yeah, I have dreamt(sp?) about being shot into swiss cheese before...but I never die.:p

I remember one funny thing though, when I was dreaming. I was doing SOMETHING, don't remember what, and I was telling myself it was a dream.(In my dream) So, IN MY DREAM, I pinched myself. You know, they say that it doesn't hurt if you pinch yourself in a dream. It hurt like HELL. :D
It was just me DREAMING I pinched mmyself, but DAMN I remember how it hurt...I think I woke up because of it....but I "checked" to see if I had pinched myself in my sleep, rather than JUST dreaming it, and I hadn't, because it was right on the top of my leg and there was no sign.

Daaaaaamn. :)

yes, very cool i must say...i was walking around my school once in a dream and would think of the people i wanted to see and when id turn a corner id see them...i've also been shot in a dream then after being shot would realize that it wasn't real and would start exploring the dream and what i could and couldn't do having been shot...

I always used to know I was dreaming and Freddy would be after me. I'd always kick his ass, but he'd always come back. I could never finish him off.

My dreams were usually like that. I'd be superman, but couldn't get my powers to work. I'd get an assault rifle in a battle, but it would jam or have blanks....

I'd never die, tho. I'd always pull out and wake up. I did get shot once before pulling out. It DID hurt for a while after waking up. Getting sliced with a knife or a sword really hurts, too.

I think I have self-confindence issues... :(

Yep, but that just spoils the dream, IMHO. But what's even worse is when you're in a dangerous situation in a dream, you're aware it's just a dream, and you try to come out of it and can't. I've actually pulled muscles trying to come out of dreams, by concentrating every ounce of effort I have and trying to just MOVE. Nothing like being locked inside your own head.......

Supposedly the mind works in such a way that since you are unconscious, you can only remember 8 minutes or so of the dream - even if you realize you are dreaming. So you may never know what you spent the majority of the time dreaming about while you were sleeping. (according to an SRA I did in 5th grade)

I had the best dream of my life about a year and a half ago - it was after 'The Christmas Break of XTC and LSD'.. During the dream, I realized I was dreaming. In it, I happened to be near some orange groves at night (perhaps because I live in Bradenton, Florida - home of Tropicana) and I decided to start flying. I could smell the fresh citrus and everything. I decided to fly as high as I could and start to free-fall. I just started falling faster and faster and then I just landed softly on the ground. I remember doing it over and over again. Biggest thrill ever - I woke up to my alarm (after about 4 hours of sleep) and I felt totally refreshed and energetic.

The second best dream I dreampt that I was in Quake 1 (the best Quake) in my favorite add-on map (forget what it's called). My brother and I seriously kicked some ass. I realized it was a dream and that basically put my brother and I on God-mode and we kicked so much ass..

Yeah I have done it plenty of times! Usually bad things happen in the dream within a dream and I am relived to "wake up" and find that something really awesome has happened. Then I am bummed when I really wake up and find out it was just one more twisted night in Andrew's brain.

I tend to have lots of dreams that I know i'm dreaming. One of the dreams I had, the world was like in Terminator 2 when everything was burned and the robots were killing everything. It was nightime, I was running through my neighborhood trying to hide from these helicopters with spotlites. So I run into one of my neighbors house, and they're just sitting there acting like nothing is wrong, but their roof is torn off, and they have one of them big guns (I MEAN BIG GUNS) that are connected to the ground and are made to shoot down helicopters and stuff. I ran behind that and shot down the hellicopter. Then I looked around and I was suddenly in some kind of big warehouse. I then realized I was dreaming and decided to fly. I was flying around the warehouse and I came accross these two teenage guys who were raiding the warehouse, but some of the badguys were trying to kill them, so I flew over and kicked the bad guys ass and told the teenagers to get the fu*k out. I then flew out of the warehouse and on some street two kids (a boy and a girl) were running from a helicopter so I picked them up and flew them into some cover under some trees. Suddenly I had nightvision, then I woke up.

Yeah, I probably wake up once a month in the middle of the night with a crazy bad charlie horse in my calf muscle. I would seriously jump out of bed and hop around my room on one foot waiting for the pain to end.

Charliehorse=worst pain ever! it feels like somebody is tearing your muscle appart with their bear hands.

<< I would always head immediately to the girl's shower room in my junior/high school. Unfortunately, I would always wake up before seeing anything. I think it was because I'd never actually seen a naked girl so my brain couldn't make up any images for me to dream about -- so I'd wake up. >>

Sometimes i know when i'm dreaming that's when i go all crazy...and most times my dreams have like 10 different parts that are so unrelated to each other. It's like this...i walk into the store in my dream, when i walk out i'm some where totally different, like in my room...pretty messed up, i wish that i could look forward to sleeping...oh well...

<< I believe in most Asian cultures there is a dreaming phenomenon called a sitting ghost were you know you are dreaming but there is a presence sitting on you not allowing you to wake up or move.

I remember reading a NYT article on it and hear it is a relatively common dream.
>>

I got that a couple of times.. freaky... i know i'm dreaming, and this constant noise start ringingn in my ear non-stop and i try to make and stuff i just could, as if i was paralyzed... after i woke up .. i try to avoid the same sleeping position, cuz often if i just go back to the same sleeping position i get what you call "sitting ghost" again.. ruins my sleep..

read a book long ago saying that this phenomenon is caused by too much force pushed onto your chest (ex, your hands.. think vampire sleep :D ).. i don't think that's true.. i shouldn't be holding myself THAT hard to interuppt my blood flow...

yup... and i somehow 'phase' in and out of my dream (e.g., take myself out of the dream by 'watching' the outcome -- e.g., third-person-view).

Wow, I have the same type of dreams. I would dream I would have superman powers but I can only fly about 6 feet off the ground and really slowly. I would try to fly away from someone but could never get away because I fly really slowly.

Another dream I have is that I could hover off the ground. I would do it in school to try to impress people but no one notices.
